Frisbee disc golf started in the 1970's and today there are over 1200 courses worldwide. With a dozen courses in Britain with baskets. Disc golf is much the same concept as traditional golf. The object is to get the disc into the basket in as few shots as possible. There are 18 hole courses and Disc Golf shares some of the same vocabulary e.g. pars, birdies, putters, drivers. 100m is a good throw for a good player. In disc golf you chose your "driver" according to the desired flight trajectory and wind conditions. It's possible to start a disc on a slight left curve, which then turns into a right curve and back to a left curve. |
