paddle to the pub Stag Party in norwich
All that Bear Grylls stuff looks exciting but who wants to eat grubs or drink your own... If you're looking for some excellent adventure but feel the perfect end to any journey is a pub, then this is the perfect boys' day out.
In fact just to wet your whistle (and make sure you're all well hydrated) this superb activity actually starts in one of Norwich's most friendly pubs. You'll be met by a team who will ask everyone to sign a quick disclaimer (a few legal points, like agreeing not to repeatedly dunk the groom), after a safety briefing you'll head to the water for quick lesson to make sure none of the guys end up stag creek without a paddle. There are three routes for your group to choose from
This is old school stuff with superb traditional wooden canoes, you'll also be equipped with paddles (naturally) life vests, maps and dry bags so you can take your wallets and phones for those important team photos or videos if any of the guys manage to go man overboard. Experienced guides will lead the way as you paddle downstream, joining the River Yare before going on to the picturesque village of Thorpe St Andrew. All that fresh air might well have made all the guys a little thirsty so you'll tie up the canoes near the village green and choose from one of two riverside pubs.
This is a chance to stretch your legs, give your shoulders a rest and tuck into some pub grub if you wish. This is a fantastic day where all the guys can have some laughs, get back to nature and do something totally different from the usual weekly routine. If the groom is an outdoors kind of guy then this is the perfect mix of lads' day out and pub comforts with the benefit of knowing there are some beer pumps and optics at journey's end.
