In the last few years, Leeds has managed to establish itself as one of the UK’s clubbing Meccas, which can more than hold its own against the more traditionally popular likes of Liverpool and Newcastle. Within the city centre of Leeds, all the components needed to create an unforgettable stag do including some of the country’s top bars, pubs and clubs are well within reach.
In an area of the country famed for its real ales, it would be rude not to sample some of the delights it has to offer. The first pub in which to sample one of these has to be in Foley’s Cask Ale House. Situated not far from Leeds lively Call Street region, this place is a must visit for any real ale lovers. Serving up to 10 local ales and a great range of bottled beers, you’ll have plenty of choice. Or, why not check out Whitelock’s for a tipple – the oldest pub in Leeds, being established in 1715, it has managed to keep much of its period charm as well as boasting a fine array of local ales to sample and a well stocked bar for the less matured ale drinker.
Alternatively, Leeds has a great variety of sports bars to choose from, where you can combine a few games of pool, sink a few (or many) pints, whilst keeping tabs on your team on the big screens. The Elbow Room and Shooters Sports Bar are the perfect venues in the city centre to combine all these elements into making a perfect start to any night out.
When it comes to your night out, Leeds has a great variety of clubs to choose from. Why not check out Mission, one of the best house clubs in the UK. It is situated under 6 disused railway arches in the city centre, which provides the perfect venue with the best atmosphere in the city. Another club well worth the visit is Bed. This multi room venue including a champagne bar has recently been refurbished to be one of Leeds’ hottest venues. For all you indie and rock lovers, be sure to check out The Cockpit. This venue has been open in Leeds since 1994 and in the past has hosted Fall Out Boy and The Killers. Be sure to look them up and check if any of your favourite bands are on during your weekend! Finally, Mint Club is well worth a mention. This late licensed nightclub allows you to keep the night flowing well into the early hours of the morning and is widely regarded as one of the UK’s best smaller clubs.
If you’re after some alternative entertainment, then Silks Gentlemen’s Lounge is a great shout. It’s a good place to start or end the night and appreciate some of the prettiest girls in town! Be sure to swing by and we guarantee you won’t be left disappointed. If you’re after a more alcohol fuelled start to the night, be sure to enquire about Bierkeller in the city centre. This Bavarian beer bar allows you to drink out of traditional steins and gives you the option to have your own table top keg. Be sure to book beforehand to avoid disappointment.
Leeds has absolutely everything you need to have the most memorable of stag dos – you shall not be left disappointed!
