Everyone knows Edinburgh stag weekends are legendary, and why wouldn’t they be?! The place has everything! I am going to let you into a little secret … the best of the activities available in this great city is unquestionably white water rafting. Being the account manger for both the UK’s top white water venues Edinburgh and Llangollen, I’ve been fortunate enough to try it at both venues – perk of the job I guess!

The Edinburgh rafting is truly amazing and an absolute must if you’re planning a weekend up to the highland capital. The venue itself is a little over an hour from the centre of Edinburgh but that shouldn’t put you off, I can arranged return transport for you and the boys at a great rate, and believe me, you’ll think it’s well worth it.

On arrival, one of our friendly qualified instructors will be on hand to assist and get you kitted up then run through a quick briefing before making your way to the waters edge. The river runs at grade 2-4 all year round and will test your skills and more importantly your ‘bottle’ to the limit. You’ll work your way down the rapids hitting each as hard as possible, your instructors will often make you traverse back up stream into the swell at the base of the rapids ensuring everyone in the group takes the plunge at least once. Trust me, the less cheek you give our instructors the better!

The ultimate ‘jaw dropper’ during your rafting session has to be the 2 tier 20 foot drop, as you’re paddling along it just looks like the river disappears off the edge of the world, you know what’s coming but it’s to late to do anything about it, don’t believe me, check out the video of me and the boys giving it a go earlier this year!
