5 tips for arranging your stag weekend

OK, so your mate has made you his bestman, and now that all the ‘old ball and chain’ gags’ are done and dusted, your work now begins. It’s down to you to put on the most incredible stag weekend possible. This may seem like a daunting task, however don’t fear, we have been doing it very well for the last 9 years, and here are our top 5 tips to organising a legendary weekend.

1. Choose your destination wisely

It’s nice to think everyone will be able to head to Vegas for ‘the Hangover’ style stag weekend with the boys; however in reality if you don’t plan early it might not happen. If you’re thinking of heading abroad check flights first, you want to be sure you can fly from your local airport and don’t have a 3 hour journey before the weekends even begun.

2. Book through an ABTA bonded agent

You can spend several hours trawling the net looking for a cheap quality hotel, only to find out they don’t take stags, or do but charge a ridiculous security bond. As stag do specialists we have already done the leg work for you, have the hotels set up, very low security deposits (if any), and most importantly the contracted rates we have will be far superior to anything you will find individually.

3. Book early!

Booking early is vital if you want to make your life easier, not only will you get the benefits of the best hotels, suppliers, timings etc. but you will also be able to give the guys enough warning to save up and pay you long before the final balance is due.

4. Choose an activity to suit your group

When you’re thinking of day time activities you need to consider the abilities and interests of your group. If you are a group of petrol heads, then quads, rage buggies, or go-karting will no doubt go down better than clay pigeon shooting. Equally if you are inviting dads, uncles, and even grand parents, zorbing or white water rafting might not be appreciated.

5. Too many cooks spoil the broth

When it comes down to making the final decision on what you’re going to do, you will need to be tough and stick to your guns. Obviously consult the stag (if you want him to know) but don’t let everybody have a say, you’ll never be able to please everyone and things will never get booked.
