Try this! A hovercrafting experience for your stag do!

In a recent Top Gear column, god of the motoring world Jeremy Clarkson downright rejected the car in favour of the hovercraft, announcing: “I swear to God, no car on earth can provide so much fun, because in a car you know where you’re going, but in a hovercraft, you don’t. You can turn the handlebars and lean till your face is peeled off, but it will just head for whatever it was that scared you in the first place”.

Hovercrafting is an adrenaline-pumping activity with a difference, so if you’re looking for a totally unique stag weekend, this could be it!  With more conventional off-road toys, you would normally hit the brakes or slide when approaching a particularly sharp corner, but not so with hovercrafting.  Hell no!  Brakes are for wimps.  But before you turn tail and run, rest assured that the machines we use are the product of many years of development in the field of light hovercraft design; so, although fast enough for the adrenaline junkies amongst you, these machines are both safe and reliable, making them ideal for new drivers.

Hovercraft experiences tend to last 2-2.5 hours and include a safety briefing and essential driving instruction from our fully qualified instructors, as well as all necessary safety equipment.  After a few practise laps to get your hand in, you can expect a number of competitive team relay and pursuit events, followed by a ‘fastest lap’ competition to find the fastest driver in the group – you may be surprised!

Our Kent hovercrafting site, in particular, is one of the best in the UK for dedicated hovercrafting experiences.  Boasting the largest hovertrack in the country, this fantastic venue brings you the chance to experience the exhilarating transition from land to water and back as you learn to master these magnificent flying machines.  This extreme activity is definitely not to be missed – as Clarkson said: “It’s the most fun you can have with an engine!”

Planning your stag do activities!

Planning your stag do activities is one of the most important aspects to your stag weekend! The stag do is all about an unforgettable experience for the right reasons. Picking the right activities for the daytime is something you don’t want to get wrong, after all you’ve got 10-15 mates to keep happy. That’s why at StagWeb we pride ourselves on sending our groups only to the best activity suppliers in the UK and Europe. We regularly go on site visits to make sure our activities are up to scratch, this giving us inside knowledge in helping give our clients the best recommendations.

Whether you choose paintballing, go karting, quad biking you want to get the best time slots in the daytime, or you could be stuck with the dreaded 9:30am start, which after a hangover isn’t the best start. Our simple advice for this is book your stag weekend package as early as possible!

When trying to think of stag do activity ideas you may want to consider these questions:

Q. Will the whole group enjoy the activity? Obvious one but there’s no point going white water rafting if one of the lads can’t swim.

Q. Do any of the group have any health issues? some activities may ask you to work a bit harder than others.

Q. Have any of the group done the activity before? They may want a new experience or they could give good recommendations.

Q. The all important question is … Do you want the best possible fun for your stag do? Then StagWeb is the place for you, see our stag weekends, or give our team of event specialists a call on 0845 130 5225.

Remember we’re ABTA bonded so your stag weekend is financially protected.

Stag activities perfect for Spring!

Hope you all enjoyed a relaxing 4 day Easter weekend break, but it’s now time to crack on again with your best mate’s stag do! We’re now in the thick of Springtime, and experiencing some outbreaks of sunshine, yes you heard correctly! SUNSHINE! The Springtime season is a great time for stag do celebrations, ok so it’s not quite as good as the summer but it’s half way there.  Below we’ve listed some stag activities best suited for your Spring stag weekend.

paintball

No two ways about it hot shot, paintballing is one of the best stag do activities you and the boys can do, wherever you are, whatever the season! This time of season is perfect, not too hot not too cold, as you’ll get a bit of a sweat on with the overalls and steamed up goggles when hot. With the damp soft ground it’s also ideal to dive across the ground dodging splats of paint! Whether it’s your main activity or you’re considering an additional activity to fill out a legendary weekend paintball is a definitely a favourite! See more info about a paintall stag do.

quad biking

Springtime is perfect conditions for some serious quad biking action, we usually experience some short showers in March-April making the ground a little damper, which for quad biking is exactly what you want, sure you’ll get muddy but this is all part of this  action loaded stag activity. See more info about a quad biking stag do.

football

A game of football is a top activity anytime of the year but it’s extra special when the sun breaks through on a fresh Springtime morning. With 5-a-side and 11-a-side football options it’s a fantastic activity to get all the lads bonding and with this years World Cup it’s something to get you in the mood. We have many 11-a-side pitches across the UK and some stadiums in Europe which will make your event even more special.

Stag Nights in 2010

It’s a new decade, but it’s still important that the age-old tradition of the stag night must still be upheld and in this day and age you have a fantastic selection of options for your stag night entertainment. You can still go for the timeless classic of pubs and clubs – there are many good reasons why this has been popular with so many stag groups – but you may want to try something else on your stag night or if you’re going for a whole stag weekend, you could go traditional on one night and try something different on the other.

Comedy clubs are becoming increasingly popular with stag groups and are perfect for the first night of a stag weekend, it gets all the lads laughing together getting you all warmed up for a great weekend. Just watch where you sit as comedians have been known to single out stag groups for ridicule – unless you’d welcome a few laughs at your expense, comedy shows are always more memorable if you’re involved!

For a top stag night out you’re going to need to make sure that you arrive at every location in style and we’ve got two great options to help you do just that. With the boogie bus you can keep the party going between bars and there’s also the booze cruise option which is not only great for standing out from the crowd (who else will be turning up at the club in a  boat?) it’s also a brilliant way to see the city.

Stag Party Activities

Stag party activities are always an important part of any stag weekend. If some of the lads don’t know each other too well then the activities are a great way for everyone to get to know each other and they also help you resist the temptation of just spending the whole day in the pub which can often have messy results and write off the rest of the weekend. There are so many activities on offer for stags these days that you really are spoiled for choice! Obviously you’ve got the stag party classics of paintballing, go karting and clay shooting which are guaranteed winners every time and you’ve also got plenty of other options from the extreme to the relaxing to the downright bizarre.

If you like your motorised activities, but want something other than go karting then (in rough order of extremeness) you could go for beerkeg racing, hovercrafts, off road karts, stunt driving or extreme dodgems. Beerkeg racing is, as the name suggests, racing on motorised beerkegs and extreme dodgems is a full-on race day on a state of the art asphalt oval track.

If you want to go for a shooting activity then if you head to Europe you can find some of the best target shooting activities around where you can shoot anything from handguns to shotguns to semi automatic rifles! It’s an experience like no other and definitely won’t disappoint.

Stag weekends abroad in 2010

This year travel agents are predicting that more people will be heading overseas for their holidays and there’s no reason why that shouldn’t also include their stag weekends especially seeing as there’s some amazing options out there! We’ve just added Belgrade in Serbia to our available destinations which Lonely Planet guide has named Belgrade as number 1 in their Top 10 Party Cities in the World list – you won’t find a higher recommendation than that! Belgrade is looking to be a big stag destination this year and you don’t want to miss out.

Some of our other recent stag abroad additions include Zagreb, The Algarve and La Manga, which have been great additions to our already formidable line up of destinations for stag weekends abroad. If you’re golfing stags then you really want to consider heading to The Algarve or La Manga which both feature some of the best golf courses in Europe. Zagreb is a traditional central European city that is reminiscent of Budapest and Prague, but with a strong Italian influences (you can get some of the best pizzas outside of Italy here as well!)

Of course, all the tried and tested stag abroad destinations are worth considering as well – they’re favourites for a reason and have hosted far too many legendary stag weekends to count. Click for more ideas for stag weekends abroad.

SWAT training stag weekends!

More and more stag groups are constantly out to discover new and exciting activities that will keep the boys out of the pub for the entirety out the Saturday. Paintball and Go Karting are fantastic activities in their own right, but if you’ve been on 2 or 3 stag dos, chances are you’ve done one or both of them. We have recently introduced a number of fantastic unique events that have proved really popular. The most exciting has to be our SWAT training day. Available for groups staying in Oxford, Cambridge and London, this half day event gives you the chance to learn the tricks of the spy trade. Every red blooded male has dreamt of being James Bond, Jack Bauer or Jason Bourne. Now is your chance! You and the boys will be trained by ex military staff in the art of close quarter combat, sniper shooting and VIP protection.

This incredible event can be combined with accommodation and entertainment, to produce a fantastic tailor made weekend. We take the hassle out of organising an important stag weekend. Click to view our stag weekend packages or contact our expert event organiser on 0845 130 5225
