European stag weekend checklist

So you’ve been chosen as best man, and apart from the dreaded speech, the most important thing is planning the perfect stag do. So where do you start?! Follow the below points and you will go down as a legend with the boys for arranging a stag do that will not be forgotten for a long, long time!

Destination?

If you’re looking at going abroad, the hardest thing is narrowing it down! How can you possibly choose between Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Vilnius or Riga when they all offer so much? One place to start is flights. Have a look to see if you can fly to your preferred destination from your local airport and also see how regular the flights are. It isn’t ideal heading somewhere that only offer flights home at 7am on the Sunday morning for example! Another thing to consider is the local currency; are they part of the euro or can you still use local currency, something that may make the round of beers cheaper. Here’s a list of our stag weekend destinations.

When?

Once you’ve decided on the destination. You’ve got to set the date! You’ll need to book flights and it’s best to give yourself as long as possible as you can take advantage of cheaper fares, often 6-8 months in advance. By planning it a long way in advance, it also allows the boys to save up for the weekend meaning you will have a much higher turn out then if you are to spring the idea on the guys 2 months before you are due to fly out.

What next

Once you’ve decided on where and when you are going, its time to get your European package booked and also your flights sorted! There are many ways online of searching for the best airfares. Don’t delay with this; the cheapest deals are often available once the flights have just been released. A site we would recommend searching for flights is SkyScanner.net.

What not to forget

Send this list onto the boy’s, you don’t want the stag weekend to start off badly by someone forgetting any of these!

  • Passport
  • Travel insurance
  • Local currency (See currency rates on our website)
  • Airline tickets
  • Emergency contact details
  • Spare change of clothing (if you’re doing daytime activities)
  • EU adapter
  • The obligatory outfit for the stag!

If you follow the above tips, and having StagWeb on your side you will have a successful and memorable stag weekend abroad!

Top 3 Stag Weekends Abroad

Although stag weekends in the UK are brilliant, there are some cracking destinations which are easy to get to but there’s nothing quite like a stag weekend abroad. There’s usually a few things which are available in Europe opposed to the UK for instance … Target shooting with magnum’s and AK47’s, the beer bicycle, bobsleighing and naked mud wrestling! Some of these activities are slightly more unusual and that’s why there fun but also Europe offers some of the best paintball and go karting sites around.

With Europe offering great activities, put together with cheap beer, amazing looking girls (especially Latvia and the Czech republic!) and fantastic accommodation you’re sure to have an unforgettable stag weekend abroad.

3 of the most popular stag weekends abroad currently are:

Prague – famous for it’s history, culture, cheap beer and gorgeous girls! Prague’s definitely worth visiting with the boys as we can get some cracking deals on luxury apartments to make the stag weekend that little bit more special! And with some awesome activities and nightlife, you’re onto a winner! Prague stag weekends

Budapest – with a long and fascinating history Budapest is a great location for a stag weekend. We recommend the Trabant rally which is a once in a lifetime opportunity to drive collectable classics through the streets of Hungary in all out heart pumping, butt clenching racing action!! Budapest stag weekends

Riga – the Baltic king of stags is home to the bobsleigh and hosts some of the finest paintball experiences in Europe! See our Riga stag weekend packages, prices start from £65pp
