European stag weekend checklist
So you’ve been chosen as best man, and apart from the dreaded speech, the most important thing is planning the perfect stag do. So where do you start?! Follow the below points and you will go down as a legend with the boys for arranging a stag do that will not be forgotten for a long, long time!
Destination?
If you’re looking at going abroad, the hardest thing is narrowing it down! How can you possibly choose between Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Vilnius or Riga when they all offer so much? One place to start is flights. Have a look to see if you can fly to your preferred destination from your local airport and also see how regular the flights are. It isn’t ideal heading somewhere that only offer flights home at 7am on the Sunday morning for example! Another thing to consider is the local currency; are they part of the euro or can you still use local currency, something that may make the round of beers cheaper. Here’s a list of our stag weekend destinations.
When?
Once you’ve decided on the destination. You’ve got to set the date! You’ll need to book flights and it’s best to give yourself as long as possible as you can take advantage of cheaper fares, often 6-8 months in advance. By planning it a long way in advance, it also allows the boys to save up for the weekend meaning you will have a much higher turn out then if you are to spring the idea on the guys 2 months before you are due to fly out.
What next
Once you’ve decided on where and when you are going, its time to get your European package booked and also your flights sorted! There are many ways online of searching for the best airfares. Don’t delay with this; the cheapest deals are often available once the flights have just been released. A site we would recommend searching for flights is SkyScanner.net.
