6 stags, 1 stripper and a million zombies can only mean one thing… a new film is due to be released. Stag Night of the Dead is set in the aftermath of a zombie outburst, where a group of young lads are looking to celebrate the ultimate stag party experience. However, after breaking the golden rule of the game “never humiliate a zombie” it turns into a fight for survival as information about the order of the world is revealed. The mother in law instantly becomes the least of the groom to be’s problems.

The film will be released on iTunes on 9th January 2012 and will also be available to buy on DVD. Click here to see the trailer of the film Stag Night of the Dead.

Stag weekends abroad – the checklist!

On the contrary to what you may have heard in the press over recent months stag weekends abroad are still going strong and there are few things you need to carefully consider when having a stag abroad.

1. ABTA – always book your weekend through an ABTA agent. This year as already seen many non bonded stag and hen companies fall by the StagWeb is ABTA bondedwayside, the only way you can insure the lads money remains safe and keeps you away from a possible lynching is to book with an ABTA certified agent. You wouldn’t gamble when booking a family holiday so don’t do it with one of the most memorable weekends of your mate’s life.

2. Insurance – as with any weekend abroad make sure you and the boys take out your own personal travel insurance, insuring you have the appropriate levels of cover. You can pick up 3 day travel insurance from about £10 per person with some companies, and it could end up being the best £10 you ever spend.

3. Passport – seems obvious but you’d be surprised. We recently had a group travel from London to Dublin for a 2 night stag weekend, and as two of the group discovered on check in, no Dublin in not considered part of the UK, and no a driving license will not do. Also please make sure you check you have enough time left on your passport as some countries may require a minimum of 6 months, also ensure any members of the group who may have additional visa requirements have them well in advance.

To start organising your stag weekend abroad, get in touch with StagWeb today.

Top Brighton stag activities

Brighton has been a top stag destination for many years and has a fantastic range of activities. Being on the coast of course means that in addition to all the land-based activities you’d get in other destinations, you also get a selection of watersports to choose from. Here’s a selection of just a few of the activities on offer for your Brighton stag do:

James Bond day – your chance to experience the life of an international super spy taking part in five of eight activities on offer including quad biking, target shooting, a helicopter treasure hunt, 4×4 driving and, of course, cocktail mixing (you’ve got to know how to make a good martini!)

Zap cats (pictured) – an extreme watersport that involves speeding across the waves – completely exhilirating and great fun, it’s like a more awesome version of powerboating.

Yacht charter – if you fancy a day on the waves, but zap cats is a bit too much for you then you could charter a yacht and have a relaxing day at sea with great views of the coastline.

Kite surfing – it’s a bit like windsurfing and a bit like power kiting, you basically stand on a surfboard and use a giant kite to pull you around. You’ll all most likely spend more time in the water than on the water, but that’s the fun of it!

There are plenty more great activities to choose from – check our Brighton stag activities page for more information and if you’re going for watersports always remember the golden rule: bring a towel!

Ten of the best summer stag activities

Surfing

Probably the coolest activity on the planet, well at least if you know what you’re doing, but for a stag weekend surfing is great fun. You’ll do a half-day (or full day) tater where you’ll get taught the basics and get out into the ocean for a top laugh with the lads. It’s refreshing, hilarious fun and sends the hangover packing! Top spots – Newquay, Woolacombe.

Waveskiing

A little bit different waveskiing is a cross between surfing and kayaking. A great activity where you can quickly experience the thrill. Get out on the ocean, catch a wave and then paddle like bilio into the shore – fit and fun. Top spots –Newquay.

Ringos

Remember when you were a kid and there was an old tyre inner on a bit of rope tied to the back of a speedboat … well this is the 21st century version ideal for stag weekend watersports. It’s a lot slicker but just as much fun and perhaps a little quicker – splashtastic. Top spots – Bournemouth, Brighton, Isle of Wight, Newquay, Torquay, Woolacombe.

Windsurfing

very cool, ok you won’t be world beaters at the first attempt but you will learn a new skill and it will be hilarious as you all struggle to get it right, but that’s part of the fun of the stag weekend. Eventually you will and you’ll be out cutting through the waves with a huge smile on your faces. Top spots – Bournemouth, Brighton, Isle of Wight, Newquay, Southampton, Torquay, Woolacombe.
Zap Kats

These high velocity single seater power boats are as powerful as you’re going to get for stag weekend watersports, they’re a serious bit of kit. So powerful in fact if it’s too choppy you’ll have to be taken out by an instructor, it’s like speedway on the sea. Top spots – Bournemouth, Brighton, Cardiff, Newquay, Southampton.

to be continued! … the other 5 will be coming tomorrow.

Stag Parties in the UK just got easier!

This month Virgin Trains are launching a brand new ‘large group’ product which should make getting to your stag party that little bit easier and also save your whole group some extra cash. From Monday 22nd June there will be new levels of fares on standard and first class for groups of 10 people or more. Passengers travelling in large groups will be benefiting from greater flexibility and cheaper tickets making a stag party in the UK even more appealing.

Jim Rowe, Senior Communications Manager for Virgin Trains, says: “In a difficult economic climate it is perhaps not surprising that people are choosing not to travel abroad so much for their stag and hen parties.
Something for everyone “There is something for everyone in the UK and with the Virgin Trains new West Coast timetable now in place with more frequent off peak services and cheap tickets, travelling by train really is the ideal option. Additionally, if tickets are booked well in advance of departure date they are less expensive so you may even be able to take advantage of the brand new menu in first class!”

Save up to 70% on trains group travel

Travelling with ten or more can cut the cost of your journey significantly. For example, a return trip to and from Liverpool to London normally costs around £62.60 per person*, but with a group travel ticket, it only costs £18.00 per person – that’s a saving of 67 percent! Virgin Train tickets

With some of these savings on transport and some fantastic stag weekend offers at StagWeb you really can get some bargains! See our UK stag weekends
