a little more about Cheltenham stag weekends
Cheltenham’s a fantastic destination - it has it all … a buzzing nightlife, terrific activities and great value packages. An old spa town, Cheltenham rivals Bath for its great history and architecture - it was originally built as a pleasure resort for wealthy visitors and its exceptional entertainment has only got better since then.
Get active in the style of late resident Eddie the Eagle (Britain’s only Olympic ski-jumper) with paintball, an assault course, quad biking and go karting. Cheltenham isn’t known only for its former skiing champion - it’s also popular for the annual festivals including the Film Festival, Folk Festival and Comedy Festival. Another interesting tit-bit about the town is that it has the fourth-highest rate in the UK of multi-millionaires per 100,000 people.
On top of all of that there’s a whole host of terrific activities to keep you busy all weekend long. Saturday you can try your luck at the Somerset challenge - which includes a pitch fork duel, crazy combines and welly wanging! For an adrenaline pumping afternoon get involved in some 4x4 off-road driving - an ultimate motor experience. Begin your stag night with a delicious stag supper at a top Cheltenham restaurant. After that we’ll cruise you over to the city’s finest lap dancing clubs where you’ll enjoy a spectacular show.
when to go to Cheltenham
Early May is a great time for any rugby-enthusiasts; the Cheltenham Rugby Festival is held in the town’s very own Prince of Wales Stadium. Following this there’s the world famous Barclays Cheltenham Jazz Festival - one of Europe’s leading festivals. June sees the Times Cheltenham Science Festival with plenty to see.
In July and August the Cheltenham Music Festival takes to the streets and sees musical performances take place in the Town Hall, the Pittville Pumproom, the Imperial Gardens and other town-centre locations. November sees the start of the Cheltenham Comedy Festival, which has showcased comedians like Frankie Boyle, Rhod Gilbert and Julian Clary. In December the city turns on its Christmas lights and a whole host of shops and markets welcome visitors. No matter what time of year you go, there’s always something going on in Cheltenham … you’re guaranteed a fun-packed time with the guys.
