Why: reasons to be cheerful, a background to the Nottingham stag do
It wasn’t too long ago that one of Nottingham’s urban legends suggested there was a disparate ratio of ladies to gents in this city, but whilst higher the 4:1 stat sadly isn’t true the city remains a belter of a location in which to host the stag. Nottingham has developed in to one of the absolute go-to stag do destinations in the UK and remains consistently popular. Being so well located it’s fantastic for activities, we’ve got over 60 listed, with some crackers and budget busters - that’ll give you an amazing time but keep the costs down; it’s superb for a big night out or two it’s even home to the UK’s first Hooters; there’s plenty of accommodation and it’s all supported by high quality ground services. Nottingham was the location of the first stag weekend StagWeb’s ever booked, so we’ve got a real soft spot for it and making sure our clients love it!
When: the best of times to stag do in Nottingham
Bottom line ... any time is a good time, so don’t worry. The city gets busy at certain times so it’s worth checking in advance so you can either get tickets or avoid a clash. For example you’ll do well to get a room, let alone host a stag do when international cricket is on at Trent Bridge, especially the Ashes (July 2013 sold out in days). Other big events to note include the Splendour Festival (July), Riverside Festival (August), Goose Fair (October), Robin Hood Pageant (October). But perhaps the one you stags will be most interested in is the Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival in early October, that’ll make merry men of you!
How: travelling to Nottingham for the stag do
A lot like Birmingham, Nottingham is very well placed for a geographically convenient stag weekend. Driving to and from the city is easy, particularly with the M1, A1, A46 & A52. Rail links are straightforward and being so well placed the journey times are usually very agreeable, for example it’s well under 2 hours from London. Whilst unlikely if you're flying there are 2 airports to consider, East Midlands and Robin Hood Doncaster. All in all it’s easy to access, has great public transport and should be convenient for most of the lads.
Where: on location, hanging out & bedding down
There’s some beautiful countryside in these parts with the famous Forest and then the Peak District not too far away, but for a stag do you’ll want to be in central Nottingham. The areas you might want to visit include Trinity Square, Castle district (home to the oldest pub in England - ‘Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem’ - worth a stag do pint perhaps), Hockley & The Lace Market.

Nottingham moolah: the Nottingham stag do costs
Quite simply one of the best value destinations in the country. We’ve got 1 night packages starting at £70 per person going all the way up to 2 night premium stag do packages at £254 per person. However we build to suit most of the time so meeting a budget is quite common, and all our packages come with the StagWeb extras including the all important ABTA cover. For the pre-planning £150-£200 should get you a great, itinerary pleasing weekend. If you allow £100-£150 either side of that for your wining and dining you shouldn’t be too far off course - provided you don’t go crazy!
