when to go to Southampton?
In February, Southampton holds the Film Festival with all the latest films, and then in May there’s Access Festival with local bands playing to large crowds in aid of charity. The end of May sees Southampton Beer Festival taking place, with more than 90 real ales plus ciders, perries and bottled beers from around the world. In late June there’s Power in the Park, a huge free open-air concert which regularly attracts in excess of 80,000 people. In September there’s So:Fest music festival and at the end of October Southampton Film Week takes to the streets with film screenings and talks. In December there’s the 5K Santa run in aid of charity and a huge German Christmas market with traditional German traders and plenty of hot food.
