a little more about Tallinn
Tallinn, the capital of Estonia is a truly beautiful city, perhaps the most picturesque of all the Baltic capitals ( Riga and Vilnius ). Estonia, was the western most state of the Soviet Socialist Republic. It’s also interesting to note that Estonia was not even a recognised country until the early 20th century, despite its claim for independence it took German and then Russian occupation until it belatedly joined the European stable in 1993, and finally ascended to the EU in 2005.
Tallinn sits proudly on Estonia’s north coast on a level with Stockholm and St Petersburg (130km); its coastal location made it an important port and drove the country’s industry. Small but perfectly formed, Tallinn ’s a stunning medieval capital with city walls that are still obvious today, wherever you walk in the World Heritage listed “Old Town” you’ll genuinely warm to its friendly appeal. Though take note, it’s not a beery get your belly out kind of place and you shouldn’t go if that’s what you’re after, Tallinn’s a bit special and as such should be treated with the respect that it deserves, besides which the Estonians are rightly fed up with badly behaved groups and will not welcome uncouth visitors. However if you’re up for a great time Tallinn is a tasty stag weekend banquet, it’s got everything and the weekend seems to go in the blink of an eye, but ‘cor blimey governor’ what a feast. There’s plenty in the nightlife section but just know that there are more quality treats in a few square yards by way of fantastic pubs, bars and restaurants than you’ll find in many other cities.
Just be prepared – you won’t get much sleep. The betrothed groom will not even notice, but we’ve got an inkling this is the place they make supermodels, you won’t go half an hour without seeing a leggy Lindsay Lohan or sultry Jessica Simpson type stunner that you’d sell a kidney for. To sum it up Tallinn’s a top drawer treat, for a stag weekend it’s got a top hat full of class but don’t go if you want to large it and get loud it’s just not the right place for that. However if it’s beauty and a classy, quality stag party to remember you want – gentlemen you’ve found one of Europe’s top spots! And with Stagweb gents, you’ll get the very best of Tallinn in an unforgettable weekend!
