why choose a York stag weekend?
York is a striking city, rich in culture and history as well as (unforgettable) activities and a busy nightlife. Enclosed in magnificent 13th century walls it presents a network of cobbled streets and great architecture. Over the years York’s become more tourist-orientated and with that change, a stag pleasing selection of more restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars have opened up, as well as excellent nightclubs.
Equally York has great claims to fame with lots of films featuring the city, including Brideshead Revisited and Robinson Crusoe. There’s also more than 360 pubs in the city, at least one for every day of the year gents! The economy of York was largely built by the chocolate industry and some say you can still smell cocoa when walking down the streets. York was also named the most haunted city in Europe by the Ghost Research Foundation International, there are apparently 140 ghosts haunting York with a huge 504 recorded hauntings!
Visit York point out that ‘York is fast developing a flourishing, cutting-edge scene’ and this is spot on; the city offers a great range to keep a stag group busy. Spend a morning relaxing on the golf course before a busy afternoon paintballing and go karting. For your stag night, why not begin with a delicious meal to remember at one of our first rate stag dinners, before making your way to a top lap dancing club before breaking out the robot on the dance floor with VIP nightclub entrance. As for Sunday, make the most of your final few hours in York and pack in some off road karts, blindfold driving or a game of rugby.
York’s also a great place for food-lovers. The Café Concerto is great for lunch and St William’s Restaurant has awesome views. For your evening meal head to Blue Bicycle which was once a brothel, or to Melton’s for some excellent dishes.
In between the bustling bars and action packed activities there’s a huge amount of restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and cultural sights on offer in the city. The businesses in York have a strong focus on quality, so whether you’re eating out or taking part in an activity you can be sure that it’ll be great value and excellent quality. Put simply, York has everything a stag group could want.
