The ultimate stag adventure. Are you tough enough?
One group of fit guys, going for a walk. All sounds kind of simple, doesn't it?
Nope.
Possibly the toughest stag challenge you'll ever face. The Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-hour race to climb the biggest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales covering 26 miles and ascending over 3,000 metres.
Your group will need to be fit, have adequate clothing (information can be supplied) and the correct footwear. This is a 24-hour challenge, so you will be climbing at night.
A full support team will be with you, guides/mountain leaders at each peak plus a driver between the climbs.
The standard timing of the event is based on 10-hours driving and your combined climb time. Timings;
The entire challenge must be completed in 24 hours.
Friday PM
The adventure begins in Scotland. You'll travel to Fort William on the Friday where you'll overnight in a local hostelry, we'd recommend a hearty meal and a good night's sleep. You're not going to see another bed for a while.
Saturday AM
The following morning an experienced local guide/mountain leader will lead the way as you make your first climb to the summit of Ben Nevis. Once you get back down it's straight to your waiting transport which will take you to the next peak.
Climb and ascent time - 5.5 hours
Saturday PM
England's tallest mountain, rising impressively from the Lake District. You have just four hours to reach the top and descend again. Another mountain leader will be with your team to show you the best routes and help keep you to time. If you can take the pace?
Having returned to the bottom of Scafell Pike there's no time to lose. The clock is still ticking so transport will be waiting to get you to Wales and where Mount Snowden and your last climb await.
Climb and ascent time - 4.5 hours
Saturday PM - Sunday AM
You'll now face the toughest part of the challenge. Most of the Journey from Scafell Pike will have been completed in the dark. Which is how your climb will begin. You'll be climbing at night as you take on this final leg of the challenge, you'll see the sun rise and finish in daylight.
