“Power to the People!” – 2015 Election Poll Results

While political commentators have so far been underwhelmed by the current lack of election fever, here at StagWeb we decided to stir things up and to give theoretical ‘power to the people’ asking men to have their say on a number of hot political potatoes with surprising results…

Who would get your vote for Prime Minister?

We offered up a number of potential candidates to our electorate, however no politicians made it into the top 5 places.

  • Stephen Fry – 29.6%
  • Jeremy Clarkson – 14.6%
  • Lord Alan Sugar – 9.9%
  • Russell Brand – 9.5%
  • Tyrion Lanister – 7.9%

Of the current political candidates Nigel Farage secured the most votes.

The current Prime Minister received less votes than comic Johnny Vegas, while Deputy PM was less popular among our voters than Piers Morgan.

Law of the Land

We asked our voters which new law would they implement if they were to become PM, answers included;

  • Equal pay for all genders and races.
  • No underwear allowed on weekends!
  • Multinational companies must pay full tax.
  • Higher minimum wage.
  • If you wind up in A & E because of drunkenness or stupidity, you get the bill.
  • Millwall in the Premier League.
  • Mondays would be abolished!

However the law that was proposed more than any other was the introduction of the 3 day weekend.

When given a free reign as to what they would make illegal, smoking came out on top. Other things facing the chop included;

  • Selfie sticks
  • Traditional politicians
  • Beetroot
  • Supporting Chelsea
  • Traffic Wardens
  • Being Katie Hopkins

Bear Grylls for Deputy PM?

Jeremy Clarkson got the nod among our voters for the roll as Deputy PM just beating Russell Brand, Russell Howard and David Beckham to the punch. Other candidates put forward for Deputy PM included;

  • Richard Branson
  • Bear Grylls
  • Professor Stephen Hawking
  • Bruce Wayne
  • John Cleese
  • Captain James T Kirk

National Holiday

When asked which day they’d make a national holiday, voters overwhelmingly opted for St George’s Day.

Most Annoying…

Disapproval ratings for things StagWeb’s voters most disliked about politicians.

  • Corruption (cash for questions, MP expenses scandal, etc) – 33.2%
  • Inability to answer straight questions – 29.1%
  • Lack of empathy/understanding with “the common man” – 14.2%
  • More time is spent chasing votes than solving issues – 10.7%
  • Smarm – 8.1%
  • Number of politicians that come from the top elite schools – 4.7%

If our voters were to get their say, the StagWeb budget would include;

18-20 – 2.6% | 21-30 – 20.4% | 31-40 – 30.6% | 41-50 – 24.1% | 51+ – 22.3%
