Aside from the psychedelic mural and the nachos served in a bin lid, the craziest component of this quirky pizzeria is just how damn good their pizzas are. With names such as the Hawaii 5.0, Holy Cluck and Kimbo Slice, you’d be forgiven for thinking they weren’t some of the best damn pizza makers in the country, but in spite of their off-the-wall options, they take their pizza game very seriously. Take the dough, for example, they went through the arduous process of trying twenty different flours until they got it just right. That’s crazy commitment!

Just as a peacock mesmerises with its colourful feathers, the guys at Peacock’s in Liverpool dazzle with their incredible pizza plumage. Returning to our Top 50 for a second year on the bounce, we couldn’t help but succumb to their delicious bites once more, and the fact their pizza joint also doubles up as a vibrant bar is the cherry on the cake (pineapple on the slice). This is where the pizza party is at in the buzzing city of Liverpool.

The friendly folks at Honest Crust have perfected their sourdough pizza game to a fine art and deliver some showstopping delights.

The true Fantastic Four, this dynamic squad of pizza slingers have altered the Manchester pizza landscape for better with their unrivalled dining experience. Spearheaded by their four Italian owners – Alberto, Daniele, Elisa and Paolo – they have cultivated a cultured atmosphere with their incredible array of pizzas and wines and the fantastic surroundings. Nosey Cow Inn

Firstly, we were told this pub is so named because a cow from across the road kept coming to look every time the cement mixers started whirring during the renovation process, which initially grabbed our attention. Then we heard through the pizza-vine that this rustic eatery cooks up some of the best slices the north of England has ever seen, and that was that. We simply had to have a gander ourselves. That cow clearly knew something special was about to happen here because everything we heard was 100% true. Delicious.
