Fighting the good fight against mass production are the pillars of the pizza society at Dough. They believe the national chains and frozen supermarket jobs have sacrificed quality for quantity and they have taken that concept, set fire to it in their pizza oven and re-established excellence as a top priority. Starting from scratch they first perfected their dough and then went about sourcing ingredients from local suppliers to minimise their carbon footprint: and that get’s a huge thumbs up from us.

The guys at Pizzeria 1926 are bringing a taste of Italy back to Scotland, literally, as they import the best of the best in tomatoes, burrata, sausage, flour, mozzarella and olive oil so you can get a truly authentic Italian experience (shame they couldn’t import the weather while they were at it!). Whilst they bring in some of the crucial elements from their homeland, they source their meat and veg as locally as possible to compensate for the air miles. Buon appetito!

Standing proudly for forty-three years, Borsalino has been a mainstay of Aberdeen’s culinary corner for nearly half a century. To have such impressive longevity, they must be doing something right, so we thought we’d check them out. Frankly, we were blown away by what we found. This rustic Italian eatery is a joy to behold with traditional décor, authentic menu and extensive drinks list. Simply an unbeatable place to spend an evening.
