Possibly the home of all British escapes and the UK’s first seaside resort it’s where “kiss me quick” began. Whether you’re recreating a vintage stag jolly to the seaside in an old VW camper or you’re rocking up for a taste of Modern day Scarborough fare there really is loads to see, sample, drink, dodge and do on a Scarborough stag do.
Scarborough has been called “the Brighton of the North” which is something the no nonsense locals would heavily rebuff. Ask a local and they’ll tell you that while some might insist Brighton rocks its really just a soft, southern, shandy drinking, lightweight compared to the “real” seaside. Has Brighton got golden sand? Does Brighton get the big breakers for surfing stags? Has Brighton got moorland so tough it hides more than the Watership Down bunnies but a big cat known as “The Beast of Ilkley Moor”?
Scarborough is “reet” northern, it’s “proper” and its action packed... Oh, and it knows how to party too. While Brighton folk might be forced to squat on pebbles, Scarborough’s soft beach isn’t just great for a quick kick about or a game of volleyball but it plays host to a summer festival with both local acts and big name bands and DJ’s.
There was a time when a game of cricket on the beech a large cod and chips, and a club with a “blue” comic was all that was required for a group of lads saying farewell to Cyril before he became attached to ’er indoors. But today’s stags need beats and sophistication and Scarborough delivers. Scarborough likes its music so if live bands are your thing there’s no shortage of venues to choose from. However if you wants beats for dancing (or just holding your pint and nodding along to as you shout in each other’s ears) then once again Scarborough will come up trumps with a surprisingly wide range of clubs to choose from.
Talk to our team and we can help line you up with guestlisting to get you into the hottest venues in town.
We’ll skate past the obvious jokes about Yorkshire men being tight, we don’t think there’s any truth in the Yorkshire saying that "a Yorkshireman is a Scotsman with all the generosity squeezed out of him" (something a lot of Yorkies seem reet proud of). However there is some truth in the fact that Yorkshire does offer more for your money than some of its southern counterparts.
And with StagWeb you’ll save more. We’ve be sending groups to Scarborough since 2002. That means we have built up a great relationship with dozens of hotels, and activity providers and get exclusive deals and rates that we can pass on to you.
Booking a Scarborough stag do or any stag do can be a pain in the “Whitby”, at StagWeb we take all the hardwork out of getting you and boys booked up. The best hotels, the busiest nightlife and the maddest action, you pick it, we’ll get it booked for you and make savings for you.
Here’s the maths bit;
If you book a stag party direct you have to firstly find a hotel that will take a stag group (let’s be honest, not all hotels are pleased to see the groom and gang arrive ready for fun), then you’ll have to pay a premium as a group booking (especially a stag group). However because we’ve been operating in Scarborough so long not only do we know the best hotels but with a proven and trusted track record behind us as well as large numbers of bookings we are given preferential rates. The same goes with our activities and nightclub bookings.
Why do you pass the savings on and not just pocket the difference? Because that doesn’t bring groups back time and time again. Arranging a great weekend and an unbeatable price is what we do. We know where you want to be, what activities you want to enjoy and because we take the time to visit every one of our destinations we can be sure that you will get first rate service in our hotels and activities.
The Yorkshire coast might not see as much as sun as some of the soft southern alternatives but is no weaker for it. Yes the middle of winter is a tough ‘bracing’ if you’re thinking of taking a stroll along the prom. But wind brings the white horses so if you’re after big surf then you might want to pick some of the fresher months.
But on the whole Scarborough gets great sunshine figures but whenever you’re planning your visit there is plenty going on all year round.
Scarborough Spa regularly plays host to top comics including; Jimmy Carr, Jason Manford and Ed Byrne all scheduled to make appearances this year. Then there are festivals like Coastival (Feb) and Staxstonbury (July) as well as having hosted its own surfing festival every October).
