Best men, big news: Funktion Leisure acquires StagWeb and the stag do weekend is back on!
If you have been trying to get hold of us, or you saw the news and wondered where it left the plans, here is the short version: StagWeb is here to stay, in safe hands, and the team that saves you a weekend’s worth of admin are back on it.
Same crew, same system that just works
Same experts, same one-place booking, same setup where every stag pays his own share through his own link so you are not the one playing group treasurer. Minimal effort, maximum credit, exactly as before. We have been sending stags off in style since 2002, and none of that is changing.
Already booked a stag do? Here is where you stand
What happens depends on when your event takes place. If it departs on or before 31 August 2026, nothing changes, your event goes ahead as booked, with ABTOT’s arrangements in place. If it departs from 1 September 2026, it will be cancelled and is subject to a refund claim. Full details and the claim routes are on our booking information page.
Who is running StagWeb now
StagWeb was one of the Groupia brands, and Groupia is now part of Funktion Leisure, the company behind Funktion Events. Funktion Leisure is an established UK events company that has been organising group trips since 2007 and is ABTA-bonded. More muscle behind the scenes, and the same StagWeb up front. Are StagWeb safe to book with?
You bet! Here at StagWeb, we’re now part of the Funktion Leisure group who are ABTA bonded (Member number: Y6501). This means we’re held to some of the strictest codes of conduct in the business as well as the Package Travel Regulations. That means your booking is totally protected and, more importantly, yours and your mates’ hard-earned money is safe. Not all stag do providers have this level of protection, so always check before booking whether you’re covered. What happened to StagWeb?
StagWeb’s previous parent company Groupia Ltd entered administration back in June 2026. Funktion Leisure then officially acquired StagWeb in July 2026 and has fully restored the platform and got us trading safely once more. Funktion Leisure already own Funktion Events, another successful name in the group travel industry, who were founded back in 2007.
