StagWeb Go To Barcelona

StagWeb Go To Barcelona

by

Meet our Barcelona experts, Lucy and Vicki.

Being our knowledgeable Barcelona Specialist and Event Manager respectively, they’ve organised epic weekends for hundreds of lads before, many of whom have made it to the Stag Hall of Fame.

To make sure we’re across all the latest and greatest stag offerings in the city, we sent them packing to sunny Spain to get the lowdown on all things Barcelona.

Barcelona

The Things You Need to Know…

  • Barcelona FC is a major part of the city’s identity
  • You need to try the tapas – restaurants don’t get busy until 9 pm
  • Placa Reial Square is great for food and drinks
  • Port Olimpic de Barcelona is where you want to head for the clubs

Getting There…

“Barcelona-El Prat Airport is very easy to navigate – we had transfers waiting to pick us up upon arrival.

“However, if you don’t have transfers on your booking (StagWeb can help you to arrange them!), the taxi rank is next to the Arrivals door, with members of staff helping people organise your trip to your onward destination.”

What Were Your First Impressions?

“We arrived in the evening and were immediately impressed by how busy it was in and around the main plaza, even on a weeknight.

“Due to how vast the central area is, you can be slap bang in the hustle and bustle of La Ramblas, or enjoy a more chilled experience in Barcelona’s Old Town, which is still vibrant, and still be in the city’s heart.

“Depending on the time of year, you can even spend a day on the beach soaking up the sun’s rays with a cold beer in hand.”

Where Did You Stay?

“We stayed at the 4* Sunotel Club Central hotel located in the L’Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample area.

“It was very modern and had everything we needed for our visit.

“Even though the accommodation was not located directly next to the main attractions, it was always easy to either jump on a quick bus or metro for a quick ride to all the party hotspots – which we absolutely did!”

Barcelona

How Easy Was It to Get Around Barcelona?

“Very easy! Having been to a lot of major cities with StagWeb, we would have to say Barcelona’s transport network is one of the best we’ve ever come across – much more reliable than ours.

“Whilst there, we’d just check Google Maps to figure out the best routes and usually end up taking the bus or metro line to our desired destination.

“There are also a series of night buses that run into the early hours and allow you to get back to your accommodation after partying the night away.

“Just one of the many great perks making Barcelona a great stag city!”

TOP TIP

“I would recommend that you buy a travel card (which can be used on all forms of transportation) for the duration of your stay in Barcelona. These can either be purchased online or at any metro station, tram stop, or tourist information office.”

Drinking and Dining in Barcelona…

“Every street block has at least three or four bars and restaurants, so you are very much spoilt for choice!

“One thing to note is that the locals prefer to dine later in the evening, so if you’re hoping to have a bit of atmosphere, I would recommend that you book your meal around 8:30-9:00 PM, as you’ll notice a difference.”

Placa Reial Square – Pl. Reial, 1, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

“Visit the Placa Reial Square as it’s filled with a variety of meal and drink hotspots!

“One restaurant that we tried was called Samantha’s – it offered tapas at a very reasonable price. Lucy and I walked out of there very full!”

Port Olímpic de Barcelona – Passeig Marítim del Port Olímpic, 08005 Barcelona, Spain

“For late-night bars and nightclubs, we’d recommend that you head to the Port Olímpic de Barcelona area.

“You’ll find four or five nightclubs right next to each other along the seafront, so you’ll have plenty of choice!”

Ice Bar – Entrada por la playa, Pg. Marítim de la Barceloneta, 38A, 08005 Barcelona, Spain

“On our second evening, we headed to the popular Ice Bar. When I say it was cold, I mean it was cold!

“This was a unique activity and literally everything was made of ice, even the glasses, which meant that your drink turned to a slushy!”

Any Recommendations?

“So many things and so little time to see them all!

“If you’re a football fan, we’d recommend starting from the Barça Museum (the FC Barcelona Museum) and doing a self-guided Camp Nou Stadium Tour.

“It gives you the once-in-a-lifetime chance to walk in the steps of the best players to ever kick a ball!

And for when you’re not living and breathing football and tapas, you could be filling your itinerary gaps with our thrilling Barcelona stag activities.
