International Women’s Day (March 8th), Women’s Equality Day (Aug 26th), Galentine’s Day, (yes, that’s actually a thing, Feb 13th), sometimes it’s nice to celebrate being a guy. And if you’re gonna do it, we think you should do it in style at one of the UK’s best man food restaurants.

StagWeb fired up the Quatro and went in search of the finest guy-stronomy. We grabbed our tasting forks and put on our stretchy pants, in order to bring you the best of the best. So, all rise, as we present, the kings of cuisine… the UK’s 25 best restaurants for guys!

The Joker – Brighton

Nothing to do with Batman’s nemesis and everything to do with amazing food and an outstanding selection of hand-picked craft beers. Upstairs you’ll find a cocktail bar and games room with top quality cocktails. Downstairs is where the foodie magic happens, a selection of wings, burgers, manwiches, fries and more.

Monty’s Lounge – Bournemouth

We once met a guy who hadn’t been to Monty’s, we sat and cried softly with him after we told him about their simply outrageously good, gooey burgers, like the ‘Red Hot Chilli Burger’ or ‘Mac ‘n’ Cheese Burger’. But that’s not all, there’s tater tots, dippers, fries, dogs, crackling, great beers plus their giant ‘Freak Shakes’. Go there now, don’t be that guy.

Pastels – Blackpool

Heaven is a place called Pastels. Seriously, one of their ‘Jose Burgers’, a side of halloumi fries, with a cold Desperado to wash it down… if that’s not Nirvana then you might as well put us in a heart shaped box now. If you’ve still never been to Blackpool, then Pastel’s is all the reason you need to jump in the campervan. A true class act.

Chester Bar & Grill – Belfast

Grab the guys, there’s somewhere you need to be. Chester’s. Is. Awesome. A live lounge with top class bands and ceilidhs, but first you need to get to the restaurant. This is MAN food, big steaks, fajitas, burgers and the ‘Maryland Chicken’ is immense! It’s a great night out that all starts with exceptional food. Exactly how life should be.

This really is the promised land, man food so good it’s down right spiritual. Surf and turf, burgers, skewers, pies, all with a modern twist, and puds so good you’ll be converted. ‘Can I get a hallelujah?’

Yard & Coop – Liverpool

Like their sign says, ‘Booze & Chicken’. Throw in some tunes and a good night out doesn’t need much more than that. The premise here is simple but genius. You pick your chicken portion, choose one of their amazing sauces, pimp your fries, add more chicken or a side and share with friends. If only all life was this simple, this tasty and this damn good.

Like a lot of great art, the real masters often started in Italy. Proper pizza is a thing of beauty, and if you want to see how it should really be done head to The Herb Garden. This is the real deal, no deep pan, no pineapple, no fakery. Pizza as pizza should be, made the Italian way. The menu is as good as the venue is funky, and check out the lunch deals.

Then there’s the unbelievably good brownies or Nutella pizza (hello!). However, the biggest cheer goes to the 27-inch pizza challenge, one and a half hours to take on this mahoosive man vs food challenge.

Annie’s Burger Shack – Nottingham, Derby, Worcester

In our humble opinion, you haven’t experienced life until you’ve experienced Annie’s Burger Shack. Bold statement? Bold burgers. Calabrisella Cardiff – Cardiff

Even in a country full of great Italian restaurants, Calibresella is a little bit special. This is fabulous Italian food, cooked the right way, with love, passion and big shouty men who cry at football and look like extras from The Sopranos. The atmosphere is fun, the food fantastic and it’s all served with an excellent choice of Italian beers and desserts. Perfetto!

Original Patty Boys – Birmingham

StagWeb regulars will know we’re long time admirers/worshipers of the self-proclaimed “Purveyors of Filth”, The Patty Boys. We once had a mate who went to Brum and didn’t try one of their burgers. He’s not our friend anymore, that’s how seriously we take what is without doubt one of the finest burger restaurants in the UK!

Oink – Edinburgh

The finest pulled pork sandwiches in the UK and if anyone says otherwise we’ll stone them with sausage rolls. You choose your bread, they fill it with succulent pulled pork, you choose your stuffing, then they’ll add your choice of sauce. Forget JK Rowling’s local scribblings, if you want some real Edinburgh magic, head to Oink and order a ‘Grunter’.

Hache – London

Hache Burger Social does exactly what it says on the tin – a great place to eat sophisticated burgers with your best friends. While the drill is familiar and the atmosphere is easy, there’s something just that little bit more grown up about Hache’s burgers. We don’t want to stick the word “fancy” around their neck but these burgers definitely feel posh and we love them for it.
