Do I Actually Need to Sort My 2027 Stag Do By November?

Do you actually need to book your 2027 stag do by November?

  • Short answer: no
  • Slightly longer answer: no… but there are a few benefits to getting it locked in early

November isn’t a deadline we invented to spook you, fyi, it’s the time of year when most activity and accommodation suppliers sit down and review their prices for the new year – and that review only ever goes one way… up!

So, booking now just locks in your weekend at this year’s rates. But that’s not all – there are loads of other great benefits, too…

Keep Scrolling if You’re Looking at Booking…

  • A stag house (instead of a hotel)
  • A big blowout in a popular destination (we’re talking Newcastle, Prague, Amsterdam, Bristol, Liverpool)
  • A weekend with 10 or more guests

First Dibs on Dates

Ever tried to organise a trip with the lads before? If so, does this look familiar?

  • “I can’t do that weekend.”
  • “I’m fully booked for March!”
  • “My cat has a cough, so I don’t think I’ll be free for the next six months!”

Irritating, right?

Well, we find the longer you leave things, the quicker people’s calendars fill up (and the more time they have to think of excuses). By getting the group chat popping early, it’s a lot easier to get a date pencilled in.

Also, the majority of stags will be lazy and leave it until the last minute, so the sooner you mobilise, the better the choice of activities, nightlife and accommodation.

Top Tip: If you’re booking a hotel, they tend to have loads of availability so you can afford to wait a bit, but stag do houses are really popular and can book up a year in advance. If you see one you like, get it in the group chat ASAP and get the lads voting on it.

Lock in 2026 Prices for Your 2027 Event

Yep, towards the end of the year, suppliers review their prices and that review only ever goes one way… up!

However, if you secure your stag do before November with a small deposit, it’ll freeze this year’s price for 2027. So, while all the guys who leave it late end up paying a premium, you’ll be kicking back knowing you’ve got your weekend on the cheap.

That’s got to be worth a few pints from the guys, surely?!

Book Now, Pay Later

In the vast majority of cases, you can secure your weekend now for a small deposit and you won’t have to pay the balance until 8 weeks before you go.

This can vary depending on whether you’re looking at booking a self-catering house, so be sure to check out this article on how StagWeb’s deposits work or give our team a quick call if you want someone to run through it with you, but generally:

  • Book your weekend now with one small deposit
  • The rest of the group will need to pay a deposit each within 4 weeks
  • Then, you can kick back and relax
  • We don’t need the final balance until 8 weeks before the event
  • Everyone pays us directly (so you don’t have to chase them)
  • Plus, you can split your payments into small, manageable chunks
  • It’s so easy!

Top Tip: Our weekends are flexible so, even after you’ve booked, in most cases you can change your stag do activities and sometimes even your accommodation and destination right up until 8 weeks before you go.

You Don’t Need Final Numbers to Book Now

This one stalls more plans than anything else: “I can’t book anything now, half the lads haven’t confirmed yet.”

But that doesn’t matter with us…

With StagWeb, your price is calculated based on a minimum number of people attending – that means, even if a few of your group drop out, as long as you don’t drop below the number on your quote, your price won’t change.

So, if you’re a group of 15, your price could be calculated on a minimum of 12 people attending – if three guys drop out, the price stays the same!

Waiting for a fully confirmed guestlist before booking is the easiest way to lose your first-choice weekend.

Save On Stress

“I can’t wait to spend loads of my free time worrying about planning a stag do. I really need that with everything else I’ve going on.”

… said no one ever.

We know planning a stag do takes a lot of effort – hey, we wouldn’t exist if people didn’t find it a bit of a nightmare.

So, any excuse to get something sorted and off your plate early has got to be a win, right?!

The sooner you lock in the accommodation and activities, the sooner you can spend your time focusing on the fun stuff like sorting out your awful stag do shirts or thinking of ways to prank the groom.

Final Verdict: Do You Have to Book Your Stag Do ASAP?

To be honest, there’s no massive pressure to. Plenty of great weekends come together a few months before.

However, if you want to get ahead of the game and save a bit of time and money, booking early can go down a storm and really get everyone pumped and ready for the big weekend.

FAQs

Do I need confirmed numbers before booking?

Nope. Just book for your absolute maximum number of attendees. If a few people drop out, it won’t affect the price as long as it stays above the minimum number outlined on your quote.

Can I change activities after I book?

Yes, in most cases you’re able to change activities up until 8 weeks before (subject to availability). Some one-off ticketed events vary, though, so make sure you check with one of our team before booking.

Do prices increase the closer to the event?

Not typically, but activity and accommodation suppliers do tend to review their rates at the end of the year, so it’s always a good idea to book early to lock in this year’s rates.
