ATOL stands for 'Air Travel Organisers License'. It's a national scheme run by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) that protects people travelling overseas from the UK.
Should anything go wrong you won't face any unexpected and expensive bills to try and get home. So if a company does go under while you're away, you'll still get home without burning a hole in your credit cards.
All companies registered with ATOL have been checked out by the CAA and adhere to strict guidelines.
In 2010 the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull erupted, not only could no one pronounce it but no one was expecting the volcano to burst to life. The resulting clouds of volcanic dust caused travel chaos across Europe leaving thousands of holiday makers stranded. ATOL were able to ensure everyone with ATOL protection got back home without incurring extra costs.
There's no need to hit the panic button, instances like this are rare but many weekend travellers fall foul of not booking through registered companies. Always make sure you're well covered when heading abroad as without back-up getting home for any unexpected reason or in adverse conditions could prove very expensive.
Nothing. With StagWeb it is all part of your package and you won't have to pay any penny more for this extra cover and service.
It's good to know that should the proverbial brown stuff hit the spinnie, windy thing, you and the entire stag group will be looked after.
We would always recommend stag groups, even if you decide not to book with StagWeb, to always book with an ATOL protected company. If there should be a problem it's good to know you will still be able to get home without incurring huge costs (it would be terrible to have to sell one of the groom's kidneys just to pay for flights home!).
Booking your tickets direct with the airline means you might not be ATOL protected. Always check with the airline or travel operator.
Remember, not all air holidays or weekends sold in the UK are ATOL protected.
ABTA is the largest organisation representing and regulating travel agents and tour operators. Its members must adhere to strict guidelines ensuring best practice and securities regarding any financial issues. Not all travel companies are ABTA bonded as many prefer not to offer protection to their clients.
As the man with the plan and stag party leader, you'll be responsible for deciding who the group should hand over their hard earned money to so you'll want to be sure you're spending it wisely. ABTA bonding safeguards your money and allows ABTA to support client claims in the event of a company failure.
The stag party industry is widely unregulated with many operators not running to the most professional of standards. Not to mention the international companies who don't even have trading licenses let alone official UK representation. If you don't want to take chances - and you shouldn't, don't think about booking your event without ABTA protection. And certainly don't take chances internationally, as it can be worse when you're a long way from home.
We don't want to scare you off having a great weekend, the groom deserves an epic send off and booking with an ABTA bonded company means you can focus on having a great time knowing you'll be well looked after every step of the way.
Nothing. With StagWeb the high level of customer service and commitment to delivering first class weekends is just a part of the service. We know how big a deal this weekend is to the blushing bridegroom so like you we want to ensure he has a superb weekend that is memorable for all the right reasons.
Once you've booked with StagWeb you can relax, knowing your booking is in safe hands so you can focus on the important things… Like having a brilliant weekend!
The stag party industry is completely unregulated so always book with
an ABTA bonded company to protect your hard earned money.
