The Places in Krakow You Need to Know About

Rynek Glowny (Main Square)

Situated in the heart of the Old Town, this is the place to head for endless bars. Picture taking ten steps to get to your next pint stop, and you'll get an idea of what we're talking about.

Old Town

The Old Town is rammed with live music, local bites, and loads of tasty beers.

Kazimierz

The edgy, cool, hipster section of Krakow. Rebuilt after WWII, you'll find artisan bars and microbreweries dotted about. The real highlight is the "shot bars", which are bound to get you in the mood for a night out.

Nowa Huta

As it was built during the Communist era, the architecture can be brutal. But scratch beyond the surface, and you'll discover new microbreweries and trendy coffee shops.

Top Krakow Pubs, Bars & Clubs

🍺Dobry Kumpel

This is a bit of Krakow. Dobry Kumpel is a cracking little cellar bar that's packed full of great beer and good music (and it most definitely won't break the bank!).

Where: Floriańska 47, 31-019

🍺Pub Polski

Boasting big atmospheric arches, and fuelled by Tyskie's finest beers, Pub Polski in the Old Town is another belting bar. They also have plenty of screens showing live sports.

Where: Rynek Główny 44, 31-017

🍺Jazz Rock Café

A dark bar with an industrial vibe, this place pops off with live music. If the groom likes his rock or metal, we'd recommend heading here at least one night.

Where: Sławkowska 12, 31-014

🍺House of Beer

With draft beer and bottled beer from places like Belgium, Lithuania and Germany, House of Beer is - you guessed it - a beer lover's dream.

Where: Świętego Tomasza 35, 31-027

🍺Four Music Club

A buzzing underground club in the heart of the Old Town. At the weekends, they're open until 4 am, so you won't have to cut your night short here.

Where: Jagiellońska 6, 31-010

🍺Shine Club

This place is a modern clubbing experience. From the lighting to the tunes to three different rooms, Shine is a great night out.

Where: Starowiślna 16, 31-032

🍺Propaganda Pub

If you're into your ska, punk, rock or reggae, Propaganda is spot-on. If you're partying in the Jewish Quarter, we'd recommend a little visit to one of its oldest boozers.

Where: Miodowa 20, 31-055

🍺Cosmic Games Pub

Think neon lights and spaceship vibes, and that's pretty much the Cosmic Pub. They have a range of games to take on including beer pong - a great place to start the night.

Where: Karmelicka 27, 31-131

The Best Time to Go

According to our 2023 stats, 53% of StagWeb's partiers visited Krakow between March and May.

Why was this period so popular?

Well, the weather is hotting up and it's before wedding season, so the stags and groom have some breathing room before the big day.

You also miss the price rises of the summer holidays, so it's win after win after win.

How Long Do People Go For?

Last year, 52% stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and we think this is perfect.

And because you're flying, this allows for two full days without travelling - plenty of time to get stuck into the bouncing nightlife and crazy activities.

Some stags go for longer, but we definitely wouldn't recommend going for any less than 3 nights.

How Soon Do People Book?

Stags heading to Krakow with us in 2023 booked three months before they were due to go which is a month less than the average, according to our end-of-year stats.

That's cutting it fine, fellas, and here's why:

  1. The later you leave it, the more likely you'll miss out on your first choices
  2. Flights are usually cheaper the earlier you book
  3. The sooner you book, the more time you have to spread your payments out

How to Get to Krakow...

What Airport to Fly to...

The main airport to fly to is the John Paul II International Airport.

Most UK airports fly to Krakow but check early to avoid getting caught out.

It's not too far, but definitely worth going for at least three nights (if you ask us!).

Getting from the Airport to Krakow

We can also arrange a private transfer for you to take you straight to your accommodation.

Be sure to tick the box on your Krakow enquiry form and we'll add it to your quote.

Tips On Getting Around Krakow

Walking - Krakow is a walkable city, especially when it comes to sightseeing in the centre and exploring all the best bars and beers. For anything further out, you may need to consider alternatives.

Tram - The transport in Krakow has won awards for being reliable and efficient (unlike the UK), so this hop-on hop-off method is an excellent way of getting around the city. It's also stupidly cheap at around £1 per ticket.

Bus - Is the next bar on the other side of the city? Fear not, buses are also a reliable method of getting around.

Taxis - There are plenty of taxis dotted about if you need to get further afield without having to work out the bus network.

Top Tip: A KrakowCard gives unlimited use of public transport and gets you entrance to a range of museums in the city.

Common Krakow FAQs

Is Krakow good for a stag do?

Krakow is one of Europe's best places for a stag do. It's perfect for a send-off for plenty of reasons: it's not too far to travel, it's cheap, it has amazing nightlife, and it is rich in culture and history. Krakow is more than ideal for a stag do.

Does Krakow have good nightlife?

The nightlife might just be the number one attraction in Krakow. From the bustling bars to awesome beer gardens and A-grade beer - prepare for an action-packed outing every night. The number of bars alone is crazy.

What do you wear on a night out in Krakow?

You might be glad to hear that the dress code in most bars is laid-back. However, some clubs around the Old Town are stricter and won't allow sports t-shirts or joggers. Wear some nice gear if you plan on clubbing.

Is Krakow a cheap city?

Krakow is a cheap city. The accommodation, food, beers, and transport are reasonably priced compared to most European stag locations. One of the big reasons that plenty of guys flock here.

What alcohol is Krakow known for?

It starts and ends with vodka and beer - the perfect fuel for an unforgettable evening. In Krakow, you've got access to some of the tastiest vodka around, but be careful, it's not your standard stuff.

Is 3 nights in Krakow enough?

3 nights is the perfect duration. Most of our stags visited for 3 nights, and this was plenty of time to conquer Krakow. Anything less and you probably won't have time for all the activities, nightlife, and sightseeing.
