Being one of the busiest capitals in Europe and one of Europe's top ten tourist cities and within the top 20 worldwide , great value Amsterdam accommodation is highly sought after. There are only so many hotels (under 400) and the city's busy week in week out for tourists, festivals and major events - occupancy is consistently high any time of year with only a slight drop off in December & January. But rest assured with us helping you plan you can be certain of great value central hotels and hostels. Over the years we've established and work with a wide range of Amsterdam stag accommodation from excellent hostels (great if meeting a lower budget is important) and hotels to 2, 3, 4 and flagship 5* properties, but be warned they can get expensive at late notice, around big events and throughout high season. The trick as always, but especially for the Dutch capital, is to start the ball rolling as soon as you can.
Amsterdam's hugely popular with us Brits, we regularly make up the highest national proportion of overseas visitors, followed by the USA & then Germany.
The Dutch capital reportedly receives over 8 million overnight visitors each year (over 12 million visitors of all types in case you're interested) using up over 10 million bed nights and growing. Then consider across all categories there are under 50,000 tourist beds at last count (not by us we might add and stats vary +/- 10,000!), with reportedly 3, 4 and 5 star hotels making up less than a third of those . You get the idea, whatever plans you've got in mind it's advisable to get any stag weekend accommodation in Amsterdam sorted and confirmed well in advance.
If you and the boys have a reasonable budget then the hotels are going to work well, but to be central and get decent quality it will impact the cost. We have 2, 3 and 4 star hotels and consistently seek out and manage the best Amsterdam group accommodation deals available.
When and if hotels present a challenge with availability or costs, hostels in Amsterdam present an excellent alternative but you have to pick right. As you'd expect not all hostels are the same and with a busy entertainment driven city like the Dutch capital the lads might not appreciate you choosing the cheapest and dingiest digs for the highly anticipated party, you're not backpacking anymore. Research is key and if you don't know the venue or don't get a chance to look at it in detail in advance then why not leave it to us, we can give you all the help you need.
You're going to have a great time out and about but for your own travel experience do respect your accommodation when you first arrive and return back throughout the weekend. One of the biggest complaints about (British) groups from hoteliers in Amsterdam is the noise and drunken behaviour when they get back to the hotel. This is by no means limited to Amsterdam's stag groups or to Brits but they're easy to lump together and point the finger at. Because they're always full and don't need hassle or other guests getting upset, hotels won't hesitate to call the police or eject groups or individuals – and that could really spoil the trip. So as a rule of thumb try to remember the following basic, very reasonable rules …
Because of high and impressive local standards we usually recommend top hostels or 2 or 3 star hotels according to budget and requirements. If you need an Amsterdam stag do sorted, start early and send us a brief today.
