Crocodile Wrestling

This amazing experience is perhaps the greatest stag challenge of all time where the groom will come face to scaly face with one of our two full-sized adult crocs. But this is no petting zoo, this is Stag vs Croc, a sporting contest that pits man against nature.

You'll be met on arrival by our chief handler, Hookie, who will explain a little about the crocs, their fighting and mating habits and what to look out for during the wrestling match (not ending up with a nickname like "Hookie" ranks fairly highly).

Crocodile wrestling techniques you'll be covering include:

• Staying away from the bitey end
• Watching out for the tail
• Taking it from behind
• Why you should never smile at a crocodile
• Biting or bonking - How to tell if your croc is getting amorous

If the grooms look like they're in trouble the stags can free them from the arena by shouting "He's a groom-to-be get him out of there!" at which point Hookie will allow open the gate for the groom to exit. You can buy videos and photos of the battle from the gift shop.

Grooms will be offered a choice of chainmail or a padded leather mankini to avoid getting any blood on their clothes as our crocs (named Ant and Dec) have been known to bite. And to give grooms a sporting chance, the arena has a number of tables, chairs and trees so he can get off the ground and away from those razor-sharp teeth while looking for his next point-scoring opportunity.

Points System

Stags have 15 minutes to score as many points as possible;

1. 1 point for every minute the groom manages to stay in the arena
2. 1 point for every time he touches the croc
3. 10 points for every time he touches the croc's teeth

(please note: the points serve no real purpose and cannot be cashed in or converted to a prize of any kind)

Fighting Tips

• Crocodiles cannot climb trees so try and use the raised platforms/trees/etc provided.
• Crocodiles are very good swimmers so if they head into their pool do not follow them, this is likely to be a trick.
• Fighting only takes place after lunchtime as Ant and Dec are noticeably slower after they have been fed.

Please note:

The event takes place at a private farm under the guidance of our trained professionals. Never attempt to wrestle crocodiles at your local zoo, they might not be ready for you and when startled can be incredibly dangerous.
