The Places in Hamburg You Need to Know About
The Reeperbahn
Situated in St. Pauli, the Reeperbahn is Hamburg's answer to the Red Light district in Amsterdam. This 1km stretch boasts many bars, clubs, lap dance venues, and a whole load of other weird and wonderful places to party.
Sternschanze
If you want to see the real Hamburg, away from the tourist hotspot that is the Reeperbahn, head to Sternschanze. This place has a load of lively bars and live music joints dotted about the district.
Karoviertel
Just a short stroll from Sternschanze, you'll find another cool little Hamburg district in Karoviertel. It's got a range of boozers to pick from: from sports bars to cocktail joints and everything in between.
Beach Bars
Yes, believe it or not, Hamburg has many 'beach bars'. Down near the River Elbe, you can relax with the sand beneath your feet as you and the boys look out over the docks with a pint in hand.

The Best Time to Go
According to our very own StagWeb statistics, 61% of guys heading to Hamburg booked their trip from April to July in 2023.
This comes as no surprise, either.
This is the perfect time to enjoy the warmer weather with your wheat beer in hand, plus it is absolutely rocking around this time.
Can you handle prime-time Hamburg?
You'll also be there before the price hikes of the summer holidays come in - more money for the beer kitty!
How Long Do People Go For?
In 2023, over 45% stayed for 3 days (2 nights) and for a trip to North Germany, that's absolutely fine.
Considering it's only an hour-and-a-half flight, it's easier to get to than some UK destinations, so you can absolutely conquer it in a weekend.
We do have a lot of groups heading there for 3 nights, too, but we wouldn't recommend going for any less than 2 - you simply won't have time to enjoy the city at its very best.
How Soon Do People Book?
Guys heading here with us last year booked, on average, 5 months before they were due to go - which is perfect.
Why?
Well, the earlier you book, the better!
Flights are cheaper. There's more availability for activities and accommodation. You get the pick of the time slots.
It's a no-brainer to start planning ASAP.
Where to Stay in Hamburg
We have a cracking range of Hamburg stag hotels and hostels ready to book - some right on the Reeperbahn, so you'll be right in the heart of the action.

However, during the day, you're going to want to make sure you've got stuff to do to keep the boredom at bay.
Luckily for you, we have over 30 Hamburg stag do ideas for you and the guys to take on.
From classic activities to something a little more crazy, we have a range of adventures to suit every group.
Things to See in Hamburg
St Pauli Fischmarkt
OK, a fish market sounds pretty rogue, but hear us out. Every Sunday, this place comes alive with thousands of people flocking to the market for the party atmosphere (they have live bands playing) and the stalls on offer. You'll also see plenty of people sinking beers.
Port of Hamburg
Hamburg's port is a big part of its heritage and there are plenty of bars down by the docks that are ready to welcome you in.
Miniatur Wunderland
Boasting the largest model railway in the world and a load of other miniature wonders, this exhibition is a great way to spend a couple of hours.
Volksparkstadion
Whether you grab a photo op, enjoy a stadium tour, or catch a live game, it's a must for football fans to visit Hamburg's stadium (the atmosphere is electric).
Millerntor-Stadion
Or, alternatively, you can head to every hipster football fan's favourite club - St Pauli.
How to Get to Hamburg...
What Airport to Fly To?
You'll head to Hamburg Airport - the only commercial airport in the city - with most UK airports flying direct (be sure to check your nearest airport).
How Long is the Flight from the UK?
It takes between 1.5 and 2 hours to fly from the UK to Hamburg, depending on which airport you fly from.
Yep, you'll be over there and partying in no time.
Getting from the Airport
Heading to Hamburg city centre is a breeze.
Hamburg Airport is just 11.3km away, so a taxi could take you there in about half an hour (taxis are available in front of Terminal 1 and 2).
The alternative is the S1 line on the S-Bahn, which takes roughly 25 minutes and costs around €3.80. You can purchase your tickets from the multiple ticket machines at the airport.
Or, we could add private transfers that take your group straight to your accommodation (simply select the option on your free Hamburg stag enquiry).
Tips On Getting Around Hamburg
Walking - Around the city centre, Hamburg is extremely walkable. It's the best way to see the sights and stumble across the best bars.
Train - An easy and affordable way of getting around the city - if you don't feel like walking, then hop on the S-Bahn and U-Bahn. Day passes save money, and they are cheaper after 09:00 am.
Taxi - The taxis in Hamburg are reliable and efficient. You'll see plenty dotted about but be sure to ask your accommodation for any recommendations.
