When to Go to Bristol?

According to our stats for 2023, 66% head for a stag do in Bristol between March and July, with the majority of groups going out in June.

Why's that time so popular?

Well, with most weddings taking place in the summer months, March-July gives stags ample time to recover from their weekend away before the big day.

Plus, this time of year, the weather's picking up, outdoor activities become more appealing, and beer gardens start to get busy.

Where to Go in Bristol?

From boozy to booze-free, there are plenty of things to do in Bristol for stag dos - you just need to know where to go...

Boozy Ideas...

  • King Street - This central closed-off street has pubs running down both sides with benches spilling out into them so you can enjoy a pint in the summer sun. Plenty of the pubs serve food, too.
  • St Nicholas Street - A short five-minute walk from King Street, you'll find St Nicholas Street which has a range of pubs plus both independent and chain bars. This place feeds into Clare Street which also has some restaurants and boozers.
  • Park Street - This hefty hill has a range of slightly more upmarket cocktail bars running up either side, with a few bars situated at the top. It's pretty steep, though. Don't say we didn't warn you.
  • Harbourside & Millenium Square - If you take a loop of the harbour, you'll find several pubs and eateries en route. You could even buy a beer and sit out if it's sunny. Millennium Square and the nearby area has a load of stag-friendly chain bars.
  • Gloucester Road & Stokes Croft - From the Bear Pit following the A38 north, you'll find a load of cracking pubs, bars and places to eat. It's a bit more of a boho, hipster vibe, but always good fun.

Non-Boozy Ideas...

  • Visit Clifton Suspension Bridge - You can't head to Bristol and not see the iconic Suspension Bridge.
  • Explore Harbourside - From bars to eateries, art exhibitions to places to relax and unwind, Harbourside is where it's at.
  • Banksy Tour - Bristol is the home of Banksy, so you should absolutely check out some of his work whilst you're strolling about the city. Be sure to book up our graffiti tour which comes with a local guide and hits up over 50 pieces of art.
  • The Downs - Located close to the Suspension Bridge, The Downs is an area of grassland where you can head to relax in the sun and nurse any sore heads back to normality. Take a beer and enjoy.
