Playing golf in UV lighting. Yeah, it's that kind of crazy.
Our German cousins have always done things a little bit different and found excellence in the strangest of places (David Hasselhoff is one of Germany's best-selling music artists of all time, 'nuff said). So, it's no surprise really that they've managed to take a nice sensible game like crazy golf and turn it into a totally mad but utterly brilliant new sporting challenge.
The Germans have a habit of improving sports. When the manager Jurgen Klinsmann looked at the way the English Premier League is played and adopted that for the German national team, they went on to become World Cup Champions. And now those crazy guys are at it again. This time they've funked-up golf.
The game is essentially played in the dark in 'black light' (UV lighting), so while the room and course is dark the obstacles, fairways, balls and holes all glow in the dark. Yes, you read that right, the stags balls will all be glowing in the dark, that's comedy gold right there friends!
The crazy golf course has some of the usual types of holes you'd expect plus some brilliant trick shots involving jumps and playing the ball up walls. Cool hands, steady nerves and a good eye for physics could help you to claim victory. You could even set some prizes and forfeits for the lads. But make sure you have a T-shirt made up for the groom to wear that he won't be able to see until he's under the UV lighting.
Bonus points for jokes about the groom having glowing balls and the fact that he's always been a swinger.
Game on!
