Palace of Parliament

This impressive building in the heart of the city makes for one hell of a backdrop for that squad selfie. It also happens to be the world's heaviest building - they aren't lying, we couldn't pick it up and Jon from Accounts goes to the gym every other Wednesday!

Head to the home of the 1986 Champions League winners for either a tour of the ground or to catch a match! Ideal for any footy-loving stags.

How to Get to Bucharest...

Most major UK airports offer direct flights to Bucharest Henri Coanda Airport but be sure to check well in advance so you don't get caught out.

The airport is located just over 18 kilometres from the centre and can take up to 40 minutes to drive to (traffic-dependant).

Getting from the Airport to the City

You can catch the 100 Express line bus which leaves the terminal every 15 minutes and costs just 3 lei (€0.70). For more information, visit the Bucharest Airport website.

There is also a train which runs every 40 minutes that will have you in the city centre in about 20 minutes, however, you will have to take a shuttle to the station as it's not directly in the airport.

Tips On Getting Around Bucharest

Bus & Tram - The city is chocked-full of bus and tram stops - tickets can be purchased from booths dotted around the town.

Metro - There's also a great little Metro system, but you can just as easily hop in a taxi or just stroll about on foot, particularly if you're staying in one specific district.
