Riga Stag Reviews

Don't take our word for it - hear from stags who lived it!

"We went to Riga with the help of StagWeb and it was an absolute riot! The group chat has been flooded with messages saying it was the best organised stag weekend they have ever been on - and whilst I'd like to take the credit, it was the team at StagWeb who made it possible with clear comms, great ideas and the installment payments which made my organisation a hundred times easier! I suspect this will be the only time I'll be a Best Man, so I'm delighted to have absolutely nailed the stag - however, if I get another call, I know exactly who to get in touch with!"

Jon Claire.
Riga , 14/05/2025

"Groupia were very easy to speak to and understood what I wanted for my stag. They made it very simple with the whole procedure and I had no difficulties in organising the stag! "

Aykut Salih.
Riga , 23/05/2019

"The ease of booking and installment payments online was a great factor to booking the stag through Groupia. A lot of different venues to choose from and extensive list of activities also. "

What to Do in Riga?

This place is a serious location for a stag do.

When you're not taking advantage of the nightlife and ridiculously cheap beers, we have more than 50 different Riga stag activities for you to take on.

And some are pretty insane!

Take your pick from the selection and send us a free enquiry to get started. Our Riga Specialist will put together a legendary weekend based on your picks and get a price over to you ASAP (normally within 24 hours).

Be sure to have a browse through our stag-friendly Riga accommodation, too, to get everything sorted in one place.

Is Riga Right for Your Group?

Riga has some serious stag party credentials.

The nightlife is massive, the activities are unrivalled, and the beer is cheap and delicious... (the drinks are so cheap, even the mate who usually avoids getting rounds will probably get one!).

If you're looking for a low-key weekend, we'd suggest looking elsewhere because Riga is one of those places you're going to want to dive into headfirst.

So, are you eager for Riga?

The Best Time to Go

According to our stats, 40% of stags who went to Riga with StagWeb in 2024 went there between May and July.

These months are the most popular because it's a chance to head off before the price hikes of the school holidays and enjoy the nicer weather.

However, plenty of stags went outside this window.

If you're looking at some of our popular snow-based activities, like Husky Dog Sledding or Snowmobiles, they're only available at certain times of the year (Dec-Feb).

It's a different vibe, but it's well worth it for the chance to do something truly memorable!

How Long Do People Go For?

53% of our groups went for 3 days (2 nights), but a large chunk (35%) went for 4 days and longer in 2024.

Two nights is decent as Riga isn't the biggest capital in the world, so you'll have enough time to see the sights, check out the bouncing nightlife, conquer the legendary activities and enjoy everything in between.

If it takes three hours to fly somewhere, though, if you can extend your break by an extra night, we'd always recommend doing so. It'll give you a bit more time to really enjoy the city, so you're not rushing to fit everything in.

How Soon Do People Book?

Guys heading to Riga with us in 2024 booked their weekends nearly 5 months (23.5 weeks) in advance, on average, which is a more than the usual - 4.

Why?

Well, it's logistically a bit harder to get to - not every UK airport offers direct flights, so it takes a bit more planning.

A lot of the major airports will, though, so don't let this put you off.

Also, the earlier you book, the better deals you get on things like flights, plus there's better availability for your activities and accommodation.

It's just easier all round to book early.

Where to Stay in Riga

As with every destination, not every hotel is happy to welcome stags.

Why risk booking solo and potentially getting turned away on the day?

Our range of stag-friendly Riga hotels is top and will set you up perfectly for a weekend in the Latvian capital.

Things to See in Riga

Veranes Garden

The city's largest public park and the perfect place for a hangover-soothing stroll.

Riga Dome Cathedral

One of the largest cathedrals in the Baltics. This gothic architecture attracts all sorts of tourists and hosts plenty of concerts throughout the year.

Riga Central Market

One of Europe's largest and best markets. Stroll around and try the local snacks and authentic dishes for a true experience of Latvian cuisine.

Jurmala

Riga's main beach, stretching to almost 25km of golden sand. Head here in the summer months for a lively atmosphere. A train runs often, and it only takes 30 minutes.

How to Get to Riga...

What Airport to Fly to...

Riga International Airport.

Most major airports in the UK offer flights to Riga but always check early to avoid any complications or disappointment.

How Long is the Flight from the UK?

It can take 2.5-3 hours to fly to Riga International Airport from the UK, depending on where you fly from.

Not far to go for some of Europe's cheapest beers and the best nightlife.

Getting from the Airport to Riga...

The city centre is just 11km (6.8 miles) away from Riga International Airport, and it takes around 20 minutes to travel between the two by car.

You can catch bus No. 22 which runs regularly and takes about 40 minutes. A single ticket costs around €2 and can be purchased from the ticket machine at the terminal as explained by Riga Airport.

Taxis are another great choice. The only two licensed taxi brands that serve the airport are XTaxi and TaksiLV - both have fixed fares displayed on their car doors so you can pick the cheaper option on the day. Either way, you can expect to pay around €22 which isn't much when split between a few of you.

For the easiest mode of transport, though, add a private airport transfer to your Riga stag enquiry by ticking the box at the bottom of the form and we'll include it in your free quote!

Tips On Getting Around Riga

Walking - Many of the sights are within walking distance, but for locations outside of the city centre, consider another method.

Tram - Tickets are €1.15, so getting around on one of these is an absolute steal.

Bus - Buses are another reliable method of transport, running until 23:30 and are easily affordable.

Taxi - RedCab and Baltic Taxi are reputable taxi firms, but you can always ask your accommodation for numbers. Pay close attention to tariffs before getting in a taxi, as there is no maximum tariff per kilometre.
