A Guide To Your Madrid Stag Weekend

Best Bars in Madrid

The fashion, the food and the weather are hot here in Madrid, so you better get yourself to a bar STAT to cool down. Any excuse to enter a bar is valid here, so get creative!

The restaurant bars around Mayor Plaza are a great place to start whilst you’re at the centre of things. It’s one of the tourist hotspots in the city, so a must-do for culture and craft pints!

Puerto de Sol is a buzzing little area that comes alive at night when the shops shut. For self-confessed hipsters, you’ll want to check out the establishments around Malsanna which is home to some pretty awesome, unique places with plants, plants, plants and speciality cocktails. The vibrant streets are great for exploring and you’ll stumble across a trendy hang out in no time.

"Scoring goals is like making love: everyone can do it, but nobody does it like me."
- Alfredo di Stefano (Real Madrid Legend)

Where to Visit in Madrid

Madrid is one of Europe's number one party cities. The nightlife doesn't really get going until late but if you're thinking of a Bar Crawl head to the cave bars around Plaza Mayor and Puerto del Sol. You'll also find plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants along Gran Via.

Must see...

If you're looking for somewhere to recuperate and rest any tender heads during your Madrid stag weekend, the Parques Reunidos is a huge public park where you can catch a few lizard-like rays. The park has an ancient Egyptian temple that was deconstructed moved and rebuilt in the city. But no trip to Madrid is complete with paying homage to one of footballs greatest cathedrals the Bernabeu Stadium. Stadium Tours are available.

Pub Trivia

Real Madrid once played 31 games without losing and are officially the most successful club of the 20th century.
Madrid has more cloudless days than any other city in Europe and a record temperature of 42.2°C.
Sports only newspapers outsell regular newspapers in Madrid.

A Taste of Madrid

Eats - Naif. This trendy sandwich/burger bar is a great place to stop off for some fantastic food. Certainly a nice change from the 'Golden Arches'.
Where? Calle de San Joaquín, 16
Drinks - While you might have tried the local cervezas and sangria, those crafty and tasteful Spaniards do make exceptionally good sidra (that's cider to us Brits). It's certainly worth sampling a glass or three, purely in an investigative capacity of course.

Getting Around Madrid

Madrid has a superb network to get the stag from A (via a few bars) to B. The city is easy to navigate on foot and everything you want for a big night out can found without having to squeeze 17 stags into a taxi.
If you're looking to head further afield grab a travel pass which gives you unlimited access to the metro (underground trains), buses, trains and airport shuttle boss, over a set period of time, starting at just €8.
Alternatively you can hire public electric bikes which can be found at docking stations around the city.

"Hola" - Hello .

Madrid Stag Do Trip Tips!

Getting to Madrid

All the London airports offer direct flights to the Spanish capital as well as Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Liverpool. Be sure to book early for the best deals and to guarantee availability, particularly if there’s a large number of you.

Getting from Madrid Airport to the City Centre

Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport (what a mouthful that is!), is located 18 kilometres from the centre of the city. The airport has both buses and Metro terminals, but negotiating public transport in a foreign country can be a pain. Madrid airport transfers are definitely the least hassle and will whisk you straight from the airport to your accommodation, so you can dump your bags off and head out to kickstart the party in a flash.

Local Customs and Tipping Culture

Small tips at bars and cafes are welcome and tipping in restaurants is a nice gesture if you’ve received good food and service. However, many places add a service charge anyway, so be sure to check before you pay.

Price of Beer in Madrid

It does vary, as in any city, with regards to the establishment you’re in, the district, the type of beer, but in a standard bar, you should be able to pick up a beer between €3-€4 euros.

Madrid Rio Park - Fans of The Last of Us will love this park that used to be a motorway before nature was allowed to reclaim it, creating one of the best green spaces we've ever seen. Chill out to the max, soak up some rays and watch the Latino lovelies going by.

Nells - Small but absolutely brilliant, Nells is where the party's at. Any Madrileño will tell you that this is where you come for a few cheeky bevvies early in the evening in full knowledge that you'll probably still be here at 3am, pulling the moves to the best tunes around.

Ghosties & Ghoulies - This city has had its fair share of ghostly goings on, with witches having used the city for nefarious purposes in the 18th century, and the spirit of an unwanted child still wanders Madrid's palace halls according to local legend...

A Madrid Stag Do

For years Madrid has been a mecca for the world's best footballers; Zidane, Puskas, Figo, Owen, Ronaldo, Kaka, Bale. Off the pitch the city matches the glamour and swagger of 'La Galaticos'. Cool, calm, refined, it's sexy and it knows it. As destinations go a Madrid stag do will promise so much and deliver on all fronts.
If you want a stag party with the style of David Beckham, the power of Roberto Carlos and the audacity of Ronaldo then 'Bienvenido a Madrid la cuidad de las estrellas'.

Spain's capital city enjoys more cloudless days than almost any other city in Europe so the chances are you and the boys will be partying under clear blue skies.

Great activities, truly exotic nightlife and the sun, there are many reasons to get cheerful on a Madrid stag weekend, not forgetting the cervazes.

Why Choose a Madrid Stag Do

Universally the unity the binds us men, the one thing we can all agree on is that there is nothing better in the world than enjoying cold drinks on a hot day with your best mates. The cold condensation forming jewelled droplets on the outside of the glass, the Spanish sun warming the skin and convincing sizzling senoritas to dress in less,  providing great visual accompaniment to a cold cerveza on a hot day.

Madrid is renowned for beauty, this is the city that gave Penelope Cruz to the world remember. Spend a day walking around and you'll soon see for yourself why Madrid is renowned in Spanish culture for having the most beautiful women in a country famed for its sultry, Mediterranean looks. Simply put, Madrid is sexy.

With possibly the best selection of activities of any of our European destinations, fantastic accommodation and a nightlife to rival any of the world's top party destinations there is nothing Madrid can't offer. More bars and clubs than David Beckham has had hairstyles. Throw in our exclusive deals and prices and the only question that remains is why haven't you booked already?

Is a Madrid Stag Do Expensive?

No. There, that was an easy answer.

Okay let us explain, Madrid is claimed to be the 4th richest city in Europe. If you want high end then you'll find the palaces and exclusive hangouts of some of Europe's highest paid footballers. However it's of course possible that not everyone on your stag do will earn wages in line with Gareth Bale but there is no need to compromise on excellence.

We can tailor the package to suit to ensure you get the maximum party for your peseta (yes we know it's Euros but that didn't sound so good!).

To get an idea of price and start working out your budget you can call us today or send a quick brief of your numbers and needs and we'll send you a quick no hassle, no obligation quote which you can edit and remix to get the perfect Spanish flavour of excitement and style… with a few beers along the way.

What to Expect From a Madrid Stag Do

Yes there is beauty in abundance, it's in the architecture, it's in the language, it can certainly be seen sat in Madrid's cafés and bars but behind the sultry eyes is a destination that loves to laugh and party.

Madrid can and will turn up the heat, turn on the charm and bring out her mischievous side. You want thrills and spills? How about whitewater rafting or outdoor laser combat? Want the beautiful game? How about a stadium tour or tickets to La Liga? Or if you want the laid back lifestyle then you can opt for getting in the swing of things on one of Spain's luxurious courses followed by tapas and wine tasting.

If some members of your Madrid stag do are movie aficionados or if you're all theme park fans then you'll find one of Spain's largest theme parks within easy reach and if it's a "must see" for you then we'll make sure to add it to your itinerary.

And in the evenings your Madrid stag weekend will take in the fire of this passionate city. Despite all the great activities on offer, for many people Madrid doesn't really start to come alive until after dark

Early evenings should be spent enjoying a glass of something cold to congratulate the winners and commiserate with the losers of your days events. Early evening Madrid is relaxed and unhurried. But once the sun has vanished from the sky and the stars start to shine over the open air dancefloors that's when the party really gets started.

When it comes to top European stag nights daytime or night time the one thing you can always be sure of with Madrid, when it comes to good times Madrid herself, she doesn't disappoint.
