Zagreb Nightlife

Tkalciceva

Croatia is a country that never stops giving when it comes to awesome hangouts! We recommend the epic party street of Tkalciceva where restaurants, bars, and cocktail joints all sit side-by-side. Although it's busy around these ends, there's an exclusive, relaxed feel - perfect for a spot of evening drinking.

Lake Jarun

If you're visiting in summer, be sure to check out the area around Lake Jarun where bars start to pop up and clubs are plentiful. It's a short taxi ride away but well worth it for a unique drinking experience. For larger groups where taxiing isn't an easy operation, sticking to the city centre will still give you a cracking night out.

Things to See in Zagreb

Zagreb Cathedral

It's not just an old church, Zagreb Cathedral is one of the tallest buildings in Croatia, and its awesome spires can be seen from just about anywhere.

Museum of Hangovers

Pretty apt for a group of stags. Yes, Zagreb has a museum dedicated to the all-too-familiar world of hangovers.

How to Get to Zagreb...

You will need to sort flights to Zagreb Airport (Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport).

A lot of major UK airports offer direct flights, but please check your nearest airport early so you don't get caught out.

Zagreb Airport is located 14.3 kilometres from the city centre, so you'll be able to get in and get your lips around that first ice-cold pint in no time.

Getting to the City Centre...

Bus - You will find a load of buses outside the terminals that will take you straight to the main bus station. Tickets cost around €6, and the journey is roughly 40 minutes.

Taxi - A shared cab will get you to the centre of the city for about €20 which can work out cheaper than the bus when split between a group of you.

Uber - Uber also operates in Zagreb, so if you have the app, this can be an easy way to sort a ride without having to faff about with the public transport on arrival.

Airport Transfer - Here at StagWeb, we can make sure someone is there and waiting to welcome you guys at the airport and take you straight to your accommodation. Simply let us know on your enquiry and we'll get it added to your weekend.

Tips On Getting Around Zagreb

Zagreb's public transport system is efficient, reliable and runs until 4 am! Easy to use and covering every part of the city that a stag would want to see, Zagreb's tram line is great for daytime sightseeing or post-night-out transport.

Zagreb FAQs

Is Zagreb a good place for a stag do?

Zagreb is a great place for a stag do. Being a capital city, it has everything you need for a memorable send-off. From adrenaline-fuelled activities to massive nights out, it's non-stop from start to finish. Footy fans can take in a game at Dinamo Zagreb before enjoying a stroll down Tkalciceva Street to check out the best bars in the city.

Is Zagreb a walkable city?

Zagreb is a very walkable city and both the Lower Town (the city centre) and Upper Town (the Old Town district) are easy to explore on foot.

Is Zagreb good for clubbing?

Zagreb is packed with nightlife, especially in its central Lower Town areas. During the day, you can sample the local cuisine, try some refreshing brews and exciting group activities, and once the night comes around the city transforms into a lively hotspot for all things party.

Destination You May Also Like...

A Zagreb stag do is most often compared with a Ljubljana stag weekend, given how similar and close they are. A Split stag do offers a Croatian coastal alternative, while a Budapest stag weekend is the natural step up in scale. If you're looking at more established destinations, a Prague stag weekend is often considered, with a Belgrade stag do providing another Balkan option.
