Experience the craic of a Dublin weekend and give the groom a send-off he'll never forget.

From the best bars to the best places to stay, we've put together a guide for everything you need to know about partying in the Irish capital.

Scroll on, get in the know, and get pumped for a legendary celebration.

StagWeb's Dublin Destination Specialist

Dublin destination specialist

Meet Tom, our Dublin Destination Specialist.

Tom has been overseeing our Dublin stag operation since 2015 and has built up a wealth of experience sending groups to the heart of the Emerald Isle for their pre-wedding celebrations.

Give him a call on 01225 474200 (Mon-Fri 08:30 - 17:30) if you want to pick his brains on what's hot and what's not, or simply send your enquiry through and Tom will get to work building the groom's legendary send-off.

Tom's Top Tip for Dublin

"There's a reason why Dublin is one of the most popular stag cities in Europe all year round... the nightlife is unrivalled!"

"The Guinness Tour is always worth doing, even if you've done it before, and I'm sure you and the guys will get lost in the bars in and around Temple Bar for hours."

🍺 Tom's Night Out Top Tip

"Temple Bar is always the obvious place to go, however, if you want to avoid the crowds and the high prices, then I'd recommend getting over to Fade Street or Camden Street to see a less touristy side of the capital."

Dublin Stag Activities

If you've never partied in Dublin, you've never really partied ever.

The Irish capital is - we'll say it quietly - arguably the greatest party destination on the planet and second to only Benidorm as our most popular European destination.

So, come and experience the craic for yourselves and let the good times and the Guinness flow in equal measure.

We have over 60 activities and nightlife options to choose from, including the iconic Guinness Brewery Tour that should be on everyone's lists, so you won't be short of things to do.

Have a scroll through the Dublin stag do ideas above, find the ones that the guys will relish, and send us a free stag enquiry today.

Our specialist will get to work building that big weekend away and send you a free, no-obligation quote with your price within 24 hours.

Here at StagWeb, we regularly visit the Irish capital so we're always up to speed with the latest and greatest stag offerings.

We've also teamed up with some of the best stag-friendly Dublin accommodation options in the city, so you can rest easy knowing you're booking somewhere that definitely lets stags stay.

Gents... let's party Dublin-style!

Is Dublin Right for Your Group?

If partying is the most important part of your weekend, then Dublin is the place for you.

Temple Bar is where the biggest party animals go to experience the craic for themselves.

Add to that the Guinness and Whiskey tours, and you've got yourselves one helluva weekend.

But it's not all just booze, booze, booze.

We have over 60 activities and ideas for you to choose from so you can keep the boredom at bay and celebrations in full swing.

We probably wouldn't recommend Dublin if you're looking for a more low-key weekend - this place is fast and furious from the minute you arrive until the time you leave.

Also, pint prices in and around Temple Bar can be upwards of €8, so it's also not the cheapest place in the world.

However, you get what you pay for and that is, undoubtedly, a legendary stag celebration!

The Best Time to Go

In 2023, 65% of stags partying in Dublin with StagWeb went between May and July.

Why?

Well, wedding season is usually in full swing by July and August, so lads need to get their weekends in before then.

Also, May-July gets you out before the price hikes when the school holidays start.

However, even if you were to go to Dublin in the dark depths of December, the pubs and bars would still be bouncing as if it were the height of summer.

So, whatever time of year you're going, you're bound to have a cracking time.

How Long Do People Go For?

78% of stags heading to Dublin last year with StagWeb went there for 2 nights (3 days).

Usually, stags heading abroad would go for at least 3 nights, but as Dublin is so close, you can smash out the stag do in 2.

We wouldn't go for any less, but two nights is definitely enough time to check out the nightlife and take on some cracking activities.

How Soon Do People Book?

Last year, our stags heading to Dublin were booking 5 months in advance, which was a month earlier than the average.

But why were guys going to Dublin so organised?

Well, mainly due to flights. Yes, for the best deals and best availability, we'd recommend getting these locked in as early as you can.

Also, Dublin is a hugely popular city, and activity and accommodation can book up fast.

So, it really does pay to get organised early.

Where to Stay in Dublin

Obviously, the closer to the centre the better.

You don't really want to be miles away from all the action and have to keep dipping into the Guinness kitty for expensive taxi rides.

We have partnered with some of the best Dublin stag hotels around, so you can book somewhere without the worry that you'll be turned away because you're a stag do (trust us, it's happened before).

With over 60 Dublin stag do ideas to choose from, plus the exploits of Temple Bar to keep you entertained, you won't have a dull moment when you're partying in the Irish capital.

Things to See in Dublin

Guinness Brewery

Just like going to Rome and looking around the Colosseum or going to Paris and going up the Eiffel Tower, a tour of the sacred Guinness Brewery is a must.

Distillery Tours

We also offer a range of distillery tours that we'd highly recommend for any whiskey-inclined gents among you.

Kilmainham Gaol

A former prison that's been converted into a museum on Irish history - for any stags looking for a bit of culture on your big weekend away.

How to Get to Dublin...

What Airport to Fly To...

Dublin Airport is the place to fly to, and it's situated just over 10 km north of the city.

How Long is the Flight from the UK?

The majority of UK airports will have direct flights to Dublin and take around an hour.

Getting from the Airport to Dublin...

The city centre is situated just 10 kilometres away from Dublin Airport, and there are plenty of buses waiting outside Terminals 1 and 2 to take you there.

According to the official Dublin Airport website, you can expect to pay between €7 and €12 depending on which bus company you use - Dublin Express or Aircoach - and the journey to the city centre takes 30 minutes.

However, a taxi will cost around €25-€30 which, split between a group of you, works out cheaper than hopping on a bus and saves you about 10 minutes of travel time.

We can even arrange the airport transfers for you: simply click 'yes please' when prompted on your Dublin stag enquiry and we'll take care of the rest. Less time faffing, more time partying!

Getting to Dublin by Ferry...

If you fancy heading in convoy and taking the ferry, you can drive to Holyhead in north-west Wales and drive aboard the boat which will take 3 hr 15 mins.

Tips On Getting Around Dublin

Walking - If you base yourselves in the centre of the city, Dublin is easily walkable. However, if you need to travel further, you do have options.

Taxis/Uber - Uber operates in Dublin, plus there are multiple taxi companies throughout the city (Leinster Taxi Dublin +353 1 437 0890 or Lynk Taxis +353 1 802 2020).

Bus - There is a huge bus network that operates throughout the city, so you can hop on and hop off with ease.

Tram - Known as Luas, Dublin has a tram system that connects parts of the city. If you happen to be close to part of the network, it's a really easy way to travel. Tickets can be bought at machines on the platforms.

Common Dublin Stag Do FAQs

Is Dublin good for a stag do?

Dublin is in the elite tier of stag destinations! The party never stops in the world-famous Temple Bar, plus our range of Dublin activities are second to none. Guinness Tour, Gaelic Games, Party Bike and more, there's loads to do, loads to see and loads to celebrate - so you may as well do it in style!

Is alcohol expensive in Dublin?

Alcohol can be expensive in Dublin. In Temple Bar, a pint of Guinness can cost upwards of €7, but you can always give smaller independent pubs a chance outside the centre which won't drain your party kitty.

Where are the best nightlife spots for a Dublin stag do?

To be honest, for a group of guys heading on a Dublin stag do, it's hard to look past Temple Bar for that big night out. This party district is packed full of traditional Irish pubs (including the iconic Temple Bar pub) as well as clubs, bars, and many more nightlife options. If you want to spend an evening away from the tourist hotspots, Fade Street and Camden Street are worth a visit - both just a short walk away from Temple Bar.

What are the best pubs and bars in Dublin for a stag do?

As we've mentioned many times, you can't go to Dublin and not have a pint of Guinness in the Temple Bar pub. However, elsewhere in the Temple Bar district, there are a load of great pubs like Bad Bobs (which is great for a burger), Oliver St John Gogarty's and the Auld Dubliner. All you need to do is walk around, though, and you're bound to stumble across some absolute belters.

What is the best time of year for a stag do in Dublin?

Unlike Spanish and Portuguese destinations, you can head to Dublin all year round and have an absolute blast. Most stags tend to head there in May and July (65% to be precise) due to the timings with summer weddings, but it really is great 365 days of the year.

What are the best Dublin stag activities for 2025?

Well, the Guinness Brewery tour is also high up on everyone's hitlists (and it's not hard to see why!). Spread over seven floors, you'll find out everything you need to know about how the black stuff is made before you finish with a pint in the Gravity Bar looking out over the whole of Dublin.

What are some unique Dublin stag do ideas to try?

For those looking to immerse themselves in some traditional Irish action, look no further than the Gaelic Games. You'll try your hand at hurling, Gaelic footy and handball as you crank up the competition and sweat out the night before.

What accommodation is there for stags heading to Dublin?

With stag accommodation in Dublin, hotels and hostels are what you want. Ideally, you should try and stay as centrally as possible (as close to Temple Bar as possible), though you will get better value the further out you go.

How long should you go to Dublin for a stag do?

Two nights probably does give you just enough time to explore the city, check out the pubs and give the groom a legendary send-off, but if you're going to the effort of flying there, we'd recommend going for three nights.

How much does a stag weekend in Dublin cost on average?

Stags heading to Dublin do spend slightly more (£238 per person on average in 2024) on accommodation, activities and nightlife than the average stag do, but this isn't your average stag do destination. Being a capital city, you will expect to spend slightly more for accommodation, activities and pints when you're there, but it's worth it - in our opinion - for a truly unforgettable celebration.

Are there any Dublin stag packages available?

Yes, we have a range of Dublin stag packages available to book. These are built based on our most popular combinations. Can't find one that works for you? No problem. You can still build your own weekend from scratch.

What are the must-visit attractions for a Dublin stag?

Well, we've said it before and we'll probably say it again, but you can't go to Dublin and not check out the Temple Bar pub. It's a great place for a pint of Guinness and a squad selfie. You've also got the iconic Guinness Storehouse, a range of distilleries, plus Kilmainham Gaol which is a former prison that's been converted into a cracking museum.
