We highly doubt that when you think of top nights out with the lads, the Exeter nightlife is what springs to mind. That's ok, it didn't for us, either. But years and years of experience in organising stag nights has taught us better, and now we know that around the regions of the southwest, the Exeter nights are second to none. It's got at least three major clubs, a wide range of different bars and lounges, and over 100 different pubs. The students keep the prices low, and give the town a genuine big-city atmosphere, keeping the party going well into the night not that the boys need any help with that. A night on the town with the lads is a lot of fun, but also pretty par for the course now. Horse Racing we don't expect you to jump on and giddy up yourselves, but a night at the races is a long established stag favourite. There's betting, there's cheering, there's suspense it's always a fantastic atmosphere at the Exeter racing track.

One of the basic tenants of a big night out is that it requires a big meal beforehand otherwise it's over all too soon. Fortunately, Exeter really knows food. There's a lot of fine dining around or international restaurants, but the town really excels at good old fashioned pub grub no less than we'd expect from a town with so many pubs. The Fat Pig is right up there with the best of the gastropubs, and with pork chops, ham, mussels, beef, and wood pigeon on the menu, it's got something to satisfy every carnivore, or the Old Firehouse has a larger menu of classic pub favourites. Try Urban Burger for the most intensive burger spread you've ever seen (and try the man v food challenge if you think you're hungry enough), Ganges for Exeter's oldest (and best) Indian restaurant, or Steaks N Sushi if you just can't decide what you want. And if you're really stuck for what to eat, go for StagWeb's dinner cruise. A long sail down the Exe with a few drinks and a hot meal is the perfect start to an evening out.
