The Places in Barcelona You Need to Know About

Las Ramblas

By day, tourists flock here to head into the narrow shopping streets on either side of the main route. By night, it's party central as this is the main thoroughfare to some of the best bars, clubs and restaurants.

Gothic Quarter

While the tourists stop on Las Ramblas, those in the know are passing through en route to the complex alleys of the Gothic Quarter, where you'll find the cream of Barca's bars and clubs. You'll also find a good smattering of Irish and British pubs.

Port Olimpic

If you're looking for a touch of class and want to rub shoulders with Barca's elite, then the city's most famous superclubs are based in the port. Prices can be a little higher, so our tip is to eat in the city before partying in the port. You'll find four or five nightclubs right next to each other.

Placa Reial Square

Another busy nightlife hub where you can get some traditional tapas at one of the many restaurants and bars in the area.

Top 10 Barcelona Pubs, Bars & Clubs

🍺L'Ovella Negra Barcelona Marina

A big and bouncing bar that shows live sports and sells beer and sangria by the tower. That's right... the tower! No faffing about queuing up after you've finished your pint, just kick back and soak up the atmosphere.

Where: Carrer de Zamore, 78, Sant Marti, 08018

🍺Razzmatazz

One of Barcelona's biggest nightclubs. The queues will tell you it's hugely popular, but it's well worth the wait. There are loads of bars, plus a range of music options to suit everyone (even the groom's terrible music tastes).

Where: C/ dels Almogavers, 122, Santi Marti, 08018

🍺The Coconut Club

A Caribbean bar located near the beachfront - this is a great place to come for a few relaxing drinks in the afternoon/early evening. The food is top-notch, plus these guys know their way around a cocktail.

Where: C/ de Ramon Trias Fargas, 2, Ciutat Vella, 08005

🍺Pacha

Another one of Barcelona's most iconic venues, Pacha pops off in the evening. It's also open all day if you want to head down for some quiet beers with some cracking views out over the beach.

Where: C/ de Ramon Trias Fargas, 2, Ciutat Vella, 08005

🍺Ice Bar

Another one located on the beachfront - the ice bar is a great place to cool off for a while! With temps dropping to minus eight, it'll help re-energise everyone ahead of another big night out.

Where: Pg. Maritim de la Barceloneta, 38A, Ciutat Vella, 08005

🍺Summum Nightbar

A good place to catch a game when you're away, Summum Nightbar is a great party venue with everything you need for a good time. Come for the footy, stay for the party.

Where: Carrer d'Aribau, 66, L'Eixample, 08011

🍺Shoko

Sea views, international cuisine, chilled drinks... Shoko is a vibe and it's most definitely the vibe you want when you're relaxing in the sun.

Where: Pg. Maritim de la Barceloneta, 36, Ciutat Vella, 08005

🍺Opium

Bar, restaurant, club - is there anything Opium can't do?! If you hadn't noticed, some of the biggest and best party venues are down by the beach, which is great for you guys as you can't bounce from one to another with ease.

Where: Pg. Maritim de la Barceloneta, 34, Ciutat Vella, 08005

🍺Furia Beach

Barcelona isn't just full of tasty, ice-cold cervezas (that's beers to you and us) - the cocktail game is fire! Head to Furia Beach for some of the finest in the city.

Where: Carrer de la Marina, 19, Local 4C, Ciutat Vella, 08005

🍺Carpe Diem Lounge Club

A favourite of ours Carpe Diem is suave and stylish and we're sure they'll let the groom in despite the fact he is neither of those things!

Where: Pg. Maritim de la Barceloneta, 32, Ciutat Vella, 08005

The Best Time to Go

In 2023, 63% of all the groups who went to Barcelona with StagWeb went in April or May.

Why were those months so popular?

Well, the weather is top drawer, you miss the school holiday price rises, plus it gives the guys time to recover before the summer wedding season kicks off.

How Long Do People Go For?

70% of stags who head to Barcelona with StagWeb go there for 2-3 nights. You're not going to want to go for any less than that, because you won't have time to do anything, and we wouldn't advise going too much longer.

How Soon Do People Book?

Last year, guys heading to Barcelona with StagWeb were booking with just under three months until their event (83 days).

This is actually less than people booking to go to places like Bristol and Cardiff.

We'd highly recommend booking as early as possible (at least 4 months in advance, which is the average across all destinations) to avoid missing out.

Barcelona is a big tourist city and accommodation and activities can book up fast.

Plus, if you want to get on the guest lists for some of the biggest and best nights out, you're going to want to get in early and secure your spots.

Where to Stay in Barcelona

Barcelona has great bus and metro networks, so you can get about the city pretty easily wherever you end up staying.

You can buy a travel card online or you can pick one up at any metro station or tourist info office.

However, we have a range of Barcelona stag accommodation dotted about across the city, so find the one that suits your group and get it booked.

Things to See in Barcelona

The Beaches

Despite the fact they're not real (built purely for the 92 Olympic Games), Barcelona's beaches are top drawer. The perfect place for a game of footie, chilling at one of the bars with a beer or three, heading out into the waves, or just taking a hangover clearing stroll the morning after the night before.

Park Guell

Park Guell is iconic. The creation of Barcelona's favourite architect, Antoni Gaudi, this place offers stunning views out across Barcelona and is a great way to relax for a couple of hours in the sun. Some of the guys might even recognise bits from Tony Hawk Underground 2. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance as they tend to sell out fast.

La Sagrada Familia

Another Gaudi creation, La Sagrada Familia is one of the most famous buildings in the city. Construction started on this impressive church in 1882 and it remains unfinished to this day. Again, if you want to go inside, buy your tickets in advance, but it's a pretty cool thing to get some photos of from the outside.

How to Get to Barcelona...

What Airport to Fly To...

For Barca, you need to fly to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

The vast majority of UK airports fly to Barcelona, but please check this in advance.

How Long is the Flight from the UK?

Depending on where you fly from in the UK, flights will take anywhere between 2 hours and 2.5 hours.

Getting from the Airport to Barcelona...

The airport is situated just 15km from the city centre, and there are plenty of buses and trains to the heart of Barca.

If you're looking for the least stressful option, we can arrange for you guys to get private transfers to and from the airport - just tick the box on your Barcelona enquiry and we'll add that on for you.

No faff. No hassle.

They'll be there waiting for you, ready for your incredible weekend to commence.

Tips On Getting Around Barcelona

Walking - If you and the guys are feeling fit, walking is one of the best ways to see the city and stumble across some of the best bars around. However, depending on where you're staying and where you're going, you may need to think about alternative options.

Metro - Barcelona has an extensive Metro system that spawls out across the city. You can get from the airport to the city centre and head to neighbouring towns, but the most common zone stags need to know about is Zone 1.

Buses - If you don't want to faff about with the Metro, Barca has an extensive bus network that's pretty easy to use. If you use Google Maps whilst you're there, you'll easily be able to work out your quickest mode of transport.

Taxis - Barca is also awash with taxis, so you can forget the public transport hassle and just hop in and head off to where you need to be. Between a group of you, the fares won't break the bank either.

Common Barcelona FAQs
