The Best Time to Go
In 2023, 60% of our stags that went to Munich visited between April and June.
And while this means they missed Oktoberfest, it's a great time to go because the weather's picking up (so you can enjoy all those incredible beer gardens), plus you won't be affected by the soaring prices of the summer holidays.
However, if you did decide to bite the weather bullet and head over in October for the world's biggest party, we wouldn't blame you!
Munich is a top place to visit all year round, so whenever you go, you'll have a top time.
How Long Do People Go For?
55% of stags went for 3 days (2 nights) in 2023 which is ideal.
If you're flying somewhere, you don't want to stay for less than 3 days as you simply won't have time to do anything.
2 nights (or more) gives you time to check out its finest beers and cracking atmosphere, as well as getting stuck into all the activities.
How Soon Do People Book?
People heading to Munich left it pretty late to book with us last year - on average, guys booked just two months before they went.
Considering the average is four months, according to our end-of-year stats, they were cutting it pretty fine.
Why do we encourage people to book early?
Well, the earlier you book...
- The cheaper things tend to be
- The more availability there tends to be
- The longer you have to plan the smaller details (like just how you're going to prank the groom)

What to Do in Munich

Add to that the beer halls and those big nights out, and you've pretty much got the perfect stag do.
Things to See in Munich
Allianz Arena
The home of Germany's most successful football team, Bayern Munich. Take a tour or catch a live game as you tick this off your football bucket lists.
Grünwalder Stadion
Or, if you're feeling a little bit hipster, why not go and catch a game at Bayern's lesser-known rivals 1860 Munich?
Englischer Garten
If the sun's shining, this massive garden is a great place to come and enjoy a beer.
How to Get to Munich...
What Airport to Fly to...
If you're heading to Munich, you'll want to aim for Munich International Airport.
The majority of UK airports offer direct flights, but these can be scarce, so be sure to check early to avoid a headache.
How Long is the Flight from the UK?
The flight time to Munich is around 2 hours, depending on where you fly from.
That's right, just 2 hours between the lads and their first German beer garden. Perfection.
Getting from the Airport to Munich...
Munich International Airport is 35km away from the city centre, so you should expect the journey to take around 45-50 minutes.
Plenty of taxis and buses wait outside the airport 24/7, plus there are the S1 and S8 S-Bahn lines which depart from the airport every 10 minutes.
You can also catch a taxi, but this can cost anywhere from €85 to €110, or more.
If you want to avoid being charged extra, we offer private airport transfers, so just add these to your Munich stag enquiry by ticking the box at the bottom of the form and we'll include them in your quote.
Tips On Getting Around Munich
Walking - Munich is an easily walkable city, especially in the city centre. Just stroll from bar to beer garden and soak up the rich culture on foot.
S-Bahn & U-Bahn - Munich's famous underground and overground railway network is famously efficient and cheap.
Taxi - While Munich's public transport is impressive, sometimes a private taxi can be more convenient.
Bus - An extensive bus network operates throughout the city and the run until 1 am. A cheaper alternative to a taxi.
