The Places in Split You Need to Know About
Old Town
The Old Town is the place you need to know about. This area is a hotbed for cool bars and bouncing venues. And the best bit? It's pretty compact, so you'll never be far from the next place.
Bačvice Beach
A spacious beach close to some of the best nightlife in Croatia. Relax in a beach bar by day or head down at night and party through until the early hours.
Top Split Pubs, Bars & Clubs
🍺ShotGun Shooters Bar
A small bar where cocktail shooters are the order of the day. A good place to come for a few liveners before you head off to party.
Where: Ul. Majstora Jurja 5, 21000
🍺The Daltonist
If you want somewhere a bit more chilled and refined for some food and craft beers, look no further than The Daltonist.
Where: Hrvojeva 10, 21000
🍺Club 305 A.D.
Open until 4 am every day, it's fair to say that Club 305 is one of the places to party when you're living the life in Split.
Where: Trogirska ul. 7, 21000
🍺Vanilla Club
Club, club, baby! Vanilla Club gets a mix of tourists and locals, but it has a strong party atmosphere. It's up out near the football stadium, though, so it's nearly 2 kilometres from the Old Town.
Where: VIII, Osmih mediteranskih igara 21, 21000
🍺Fabrique Pub
A great pub serving great food (we're talking burgers, pizza, pasta, BBQ, and more - something for even the fussiest of stag).
Where: Trg Franje Tuđmana 3, 21000
🍺Jadran Beach Bar
Split is all about the beach bars. Sitting down in the afternoon sun with an ice-cold pint, watching the waves roll in - is there anything better in life?
Where: Sustipanski put 23, 21000
🍺Charlie's Bar
Another Old Town favourite, Charlie's Bar is packed with party vibes. You get a lot of backpackers, but there's always a good mix of people here.
Where: Ul. Petra Kružića 5, 21000
🍺Mačak
With pool, bowling, darts and more, Mačak is the place to go to crank up the competition on your big Split celebration. It is quite far away from the Old Town, though.
Where: Trondheimska ul. 4d, 21000
The Best Time to Go
According to our 2023 stats, 53% of stags who booked with StagWeb went between March and May.
This period is popular because...
- The weather is outrageous
- It's just before wedding season, so the groom has plenty of time to recover
- It's before the peak summer holiday season, so the prices won't soar
How Long Do People Go For?
60% of our groups stayed for 4 days (3 nights).
3 nights is perfect if you ask us. That's two days without travel, so you can explore everything Split has to offer.
Also, considering the flight time, you won't want to travel to Croatia for less.
How Soon Do People Book?
A lot of stags booking Split with us last year booked last-minute.
We're talking less than a month before they were due to go... don't be those guys.
We'd recommend booking at least four months before the event, but the sooner the better.
Why?
Well, usually, the earlier you book:
- The cheaper the flights
- The better the availability of hotels and activities
- The more time you have to look forward to it

The Sea
Speaking of the Med, it's perfect for those hangover dips, and it's surrounded by a load of quality cafés, restaurants, and bars.
Cathedral of Saint Domnius
The biggest monument in the city. Why not make a climb to the top of the tower and admire the view? You might even spot your next bar from up there.
How to Get to Split...
What Airport to Fly to...
Split Airport is where you need to go.
Many UK airports fly to Split but check beforehand to avoid any slip-ups.
How Long is the Flight from the UK?
It can take between 2-3 hours to fly to Split, depending on where you go from.
It's slightly further than some traditional stag hotspots, but well worth it for the legendary party atmosphere and pretty much guaranteed sun.
Getting from the Airport to Split
The city centre is just 22.8km from Split Airport, and it will take around 30 minutes to get there.
Taxis cost around €33 and wait outside the terminal.
The shuttle bus is another popular method - it takes around 30 minutes and costs just €6, so this might be the best choice.
However, the easiest way to get to your accommodation is with a private airport transfer - if you tick the box on your Split enquiry, we'll add it to your quote.
Find out the latest info on getting to and from Split Airport on the Visit Croatia website.
Tips On Getting Around Split
Walking - Split is a pretty walkable city. That means you can stroll about soaking up the culture, stopping in all the bars, and enjoying everything it has to offer.
Bus - The buses cover the entire city, but become scarce late at night, so bear that in mind if you're out clubbing.
Taxi - Both taxis and Uber operate across the city if you don't fancy faffing about with the public transport.
