The Best Time to Go

46% of stags who partied with us last year went to Tenerife from April to June.

It's popular this time for three reasons:

  1. You'll have plenty of time to recover before the summer wedding season
  2. April to June boasts great weather but avoids peak temps, which some find too intense
  3. You'll miss the price hikes of the summer holidays

However, because Tenerife is located just off the coast of Africa, it's pretty hot all year round, so you could head there in February or October and still have a blast.

How Long Do People Go For?

In 2023, 53% of stags went to Tenerife for 4 days and 3 nights.

Considering it's a 4.5-hour flight, we wouldn't recommend going for any less than 3 nights and we'd recommend stretching it to 4 or 5 nights if you have the time.

Why?

Well, a Tenerife stag weekend is as much of a holiday as it is a 100mph celebration.

The longer you go, the less you have to pack in, so you and the boys can enjoy a couple of rest days in between all the action.

How Soon Do People Book?

People booking Tenerife last year booked 4 months ahead of their event date.

Whilst that's the average, according to our end-of-year stats, we'd actually recommend giving yourselves more time than that.

Usually, the earlier you book, the better your flight prices.

On top of that, there's better availability and you'll be able to secure the best activities, time slots, etc.

Where to Stay in Tenerife

We have a load of top-tier Tenerife stag accommodation options that will set you up right in the heart of the action.

From your own apartments to hotels with swimming pools, you and the boys will get a great place to chill out when you're not off exploring.

How to Get to Tenerife...

What Airport to Fly To?

While there are two airports in Tenerife, the southern airport, Tenerife South (Tenerife South-Reina Sofia Airport), is the one you'll most likely be heading for if you're looking at partying in the Playa de las Américas district.

How Long is the Flight from the UK?

The flight duration from the UK to Tenerife is around 4.5-5 hours, depending on which UK airport you fly from. Most airports fly directly to Tenerife but be sure to check in advance.

Getting from the Airport

For Playa de las Américas, the South Airport is 18 kilometres away and will take about 20 minutes from the airport (traffic-dependent).

If you're staying up north in Santa Cruz, it's about 61km from the airport, so a taxi ride will have you at your hotel in no time.

Tips On Getting Around Tenerife

Walking - For shorter distances, if it's not unbearably hot, walking around Tenerife is a good option and a great way to top up your tan.

Bus - Known as "guaguas" to the Canarians, the reliable bus system covers every corner of the island, and you can purchase a bono-bus - a bus pass that saves lots of cash

Taxi - The availability of taxis in Tenerife is impressive and is cheaper than getting an Uber.

Tram - A great option to travel longer distances. If you don't fancy splitting a taxi fare, head on a tram to the next drinking spots.
