Collecting money for a stag do can be - quite frankly - a nightmare.

You've probably got mates who won't even chip in for a round at the pub, let alone their share of the stag.

Then, with the weekend coming up fast and furious, you realise you're going to have to stump up a massive chunk of change while the guys are nowhere to be found.

"Cheers, lads!"

Yep, here at StagWeb (the home of legendary stag weekends), we've seen and heard it all before.

So, to help you out and to make sure no future best men are left out of pocket, we've put together your 5-step guide to collecting money for the stag do.

5 Steps to Zero Money Worries...

  1. Start Early ⏳
  2. Be Exact 🧐
  3. Stay Organised 📅
  4. Automate the Payments 💸📱
  5. Use StagWeb 😉

1. Start Early ⏳

We're talking, like... yesterday.

Trust us, the earlier you start, the easier your life will be.

If you think sending a message the week before the stag saying, "Hey guys, can you quickly send £250?" will get you anything other than radio silence, you need your head looking at.

Give the lads some notice, or you might just find yourself coughing up the cash and eating instant noodles for a month.

For more info on making the most out of your stag do budget, we put together a handy blog full of helpful tips on how to get more and pay less!

2. Be Exact 🧐

Lay out the costs like they're on a sunbed in Ibiza.

How much for the embarrassing bad shirts? How much for the flights? How much for the legendary stag activities?

Show them the maths.

People need to know where their money's going!

That way, they'll trust you with their cash knowing it'll go towards some epic memory-making, not your secret stash of Star Wars figurines.

Yes, a stag's money is sacred, and if it doesn't go on something awesome or a big night out, then that's money wasted.

3. Stay Organised (And Keep Evidence) 📅

Keeping track of who's paid and who hasn't can get VERY confusing.

Some people will give you cash. Some will send you a bank transfer. Some will bump into you on the street to try and slide an expired gift card into your back pocket.

Keep a record. Screenshots, spreadsheets, notes - whatever floats your boat.

Otherwise, you can mess up colossally and have to cancel activities due to underfunding...! 😬

An Excel spreadsheet is always handy.

4. Automate the Payments 💸📱

Depending on your bank, you might be able to create a Savings Pot and gather the stag money in it.

Use apps like Splitwise, Monzo, or Revolut to manage costs by splitting the payments between your group.

There are a few drawbacks to consider, though...

Each group member must have the same bank provider to have access to the reminders/saving pot, which amounts to a whole new set of chasing from your side.

Another complication could emerge if not everyone is paying the same amount.

Let's say you've got a mate who can't attend the Paintballing session because of a medical condition, but they're more than happy to join you for the awesome dinner feast you've planned.

Now multiply that by the five other stags who each have their own availability and reasons...

If only there was a way to collect money stress-free... 🤔

5. Use StagWeb 😉

Now scratch off everything you've read above because we'll take care of it!
